The ffrost Sawyer Tavern is located in the beautiful and historic Three Chimneys Inn. The Tavern, with its open hearth Summer Kitchen fireplace, granite walls, and hand-hewn beams, provides a cozy spot for hearty traditional New England fare. The Tavern is a popular dining spot for local guests and travelers. The Maples Dining Room features millwork dating to 1699 and retains the original Indian shutters that protected settlers from Colonial-era attacks. Coppers, the original winter kitchen of the 1649 homestead, provides an elegant and romantic setting. Wide plank floors, the open hearth and original millwork create an authentic old New England dining experience.

Our culinary team prepares savory dishes from scratch with exceptional, homegrown flavor. The kitchen works closely with local farms and growers to pick fresh ingredients for creative entrees and innovative cocktails, resulting in exceptional farm-to-table cuisine that showcases the essence of New Hampshire.

Service outstanding. I got the potato crusted haddock, came with snow peas. All was very greasy. The potato crust (shredded russet potato, kind of like hash browns) flavor over powered the delicate haddock, which I could not really taste. According to the server this is a favorite menu item, however I would not recommend for the above reasons.

The salmon mushroom riso dish was wonderful. My husband loves the Jefferson chicken. They seated us near the fire which was lovely.

Cool old inn….food was good, service was fast and attentive, maybe too fast. Could have been warmer. Would be nice to get fireplaces running again. Prices not bad, would go back. Was nice.

This was to be our Valentine's Day dinner. We reserved two months ahead, to assure we'd get a good table. We were given the absolute worst table in the house -- in the "dungeon" of a "tavern" with cold air radiating through single-pane, drafty windows bringing the temperature down into the 50s (estimated). The food was nearly as cold -- including ice cold mashed potatoes. The steak tips, though served with a tasty sauce, were tough and chewy. The salad was fairly good, as were the pea pods (vegetable of the day) -- but it was not enough to make up for how uncomfortable we were. We had originally planned to stay for dessert, but we decided to leave without it.

Thoroughly enjoyed our dinner with friends at Three Chimneys Inn. Our entrees - steak tips, fish & chips, and butternut squash & apple gnocchi - were excellent. Service was exceptional. Ambiance of the tavern was warm and inviting. Half price bottles of house wine a pleasant surprise. Definitely recommend!

The atmosphere in the tavern was cozy, warmly lit and unique (exposed brickwork from the house the Inn was created from). The food was delicious, we had the pork chop (tender and perfectly seasoned), haddock fish & chips, and demi salads (an amazing bargain at $8). We ordered blackberry lemon drop martinis: besides arriving in the requisite glasses, we were provided with shaker tin cups filled with enough of the magical concoction to refill our glasses twice! We have found a gem and plan to return soon!

Great service great food! We went to three chimneys for our anniversary. The staff sat us by the fireplace which was very nice. Our waitress (Hanna) was very helpful in assisting us with the menu and was just great overall. The food was absolutely amazing! I am looking forward to coming back for our anniversary next year, hopefully sooner.
