The Wheatsheaf is a coaching inn, where in years gone by teams of horses and coaches would be kept in the stables below and above blindingly drunken parties would be held where coachmen, travellers and mysterious highwaymen would drink, dance, tell tales, sing and generally be very badly behaved. Much has changed but we still aim to please our local community and our goal is be an exceptional example of a traditional coaching inn with 14 beautiful bedrooms, a great wine list, good beer and some excellent regional food which is, wherever possible, local, seasonal and sourced from only the best suppliers in the area.

We were made very welcome at the Wheatsheaf, as first time visitors, and were given a lovely round table in a side room which made our evening really special, although we didn't feel cut off from the main restaurant. The Australian waitress was delightful and looked after us very well. It might have been nice to have a bit more vegetarian choice for mains, but they were very obliging about mixing and matching starters and sides, and we all had different dishes (veggie, fish and meat) which we enjoyed. The pub was dog friendly, which we thought was great, and the doggy guests were very well behaved, but this may not suit everyone. All in all, a fabulous, traditional Cotswold Inn in a lovely village setting and well worth a visit. They have rooms as well, so next time we might choose to stay!

Always a great meal. Can be expensive with side dishes. Friendly service. Kyle and team did well considering Saturday lunchtime manic! You might say it was "The Real Deal"!

I do like this pub, but you can never park and it is eye wateringly expensive for what I think is quite average food. However, it is always busy so clearly most people don't agree with me!

Food was delicious, service was not. Got my order wrong and didn’t notice until after (ordered rump was given ribeye, £7 price difference I think, although I should have checked the bill before paying) had to go up to the bar to order drinks, once I was there I had to wait for the barman to finish stacking and cleaning cups before he would serve me, cups clearly had priority! Also ended up ordering pudding at the bar, 3 people behind bar, I then had to wait and once someone spoke to me they told me to go and speak to one of the other 2 serving. Also saw bar manager and person working behind the bar have an argument, not very professional and should happen behind closed doors. Other than that I had a lovely meal but was let down by the service, also would have chosen not to tip as I feel that the £14 (and extra £7 for the steak I didn’t order) were robbed from me, but I’m not the person to make a fuss over £14. Again lovely food lovely pub, questionable staff who need to re-evaluate the importance of the customer! (The same bar manager who argued was also very nice and very friendly, great with his whiskey but let himself down by arguing in front of customers)

Basically I feel not welcome at all, I was waiting in the door to be seated and nobody from the staff looks care, was 4 staff members going around... the staff is young and in exception of a young blonde lady they didn’t look very happy at all .... wine list overpriced and without choice in red wines, was old and dirty ( you can reprint again) .... the starters come together when should be one by one as requested, no bread or aperitif was offered.... I feel not welcome at all from that I open the door, maybe this was the worst...
