   I booked my table easily online. It was a lovely atmosphere, we were greeted by Nadia and Maxine, who showed us to our table in the sailing room. We ordered drinks and various classic meals from the menu. Plentiful and delicious hot food, at amazing value! We were all impressed! It’s a family and dog friendly pub! Great relaxed experience, thank you for making our day special, we will be back!

   Things did not get off to a great start on a few counts: 1 - The table had a QR code for menu and ordering at the table. But upon using this, the website did not respond. I went to the bar and raised this with a waitress and she said, "yes, sometimes we turn that off", which makes no sense. Why would you just turn that feature off? 2 - So I ordered drinks at the bar in person, and they did not materialise. I went back to the bar after 10-15 mins to query this, and I had to give my order again. I think there may have been a new-starter there, and we all have to learn somewhere, so I did not give them a hard time over this. 3 - The guy taking my food order asked if I wanted to run a tab, which I did as knew we'd order more drinks. But then a waitress said that they don't do tabs, there was some discussion and it was deemed I was not able to run a tab. That's pretty ridiculous to be honest, if you're voluntarily disabling the QR code self-service, then not allowing customers to run a tab, it's just causing customer inconvenience. After this, things picked up and our food orders were taken promptly, the food arrived in a reasonable time, and the food turned out to be pretty good. Putting aside the new starter matter - as it would be unfair to mark the place down due to a training item - the service re. the QR code self-service and not running a tab needs resolving, but other than that, this was a pretty good experience and all of us enjoyed our food and had a nice evening.

   Like eating a frozen tv dinner Potatoes were horrible - dry no flavour. Veg raw Gravy like dishwater

   Despite booking a table weeks ago, and having confirmed it the day before, we arrived to find that they had turned the dining area that we had booked into a private party room. They offered us an unsuitable alternative table to eat at so we left without dining there. If I could give them less than a one star rating I would do so.

   Staff are generally good. The beef was great, as was the Yorkshire pud, potatoes and parsnip. The gravy was thin, carrots, peas and cauliflower were undercooked. I asked for lots of horseradish sauce and a tiny pot was bought to me. I asked for some more, but it didn’t materialise. Reasonable price.

   My wife and i booked a table in the sailing room for Sunday lunch for 4 people. We travelled from Hastings and our guests were from the New Forest. We had never been there before. The staff were kind, friendly and courteous. The food was excellent We enjoyed ourselves that much that we stayed for 4 hours. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Such a lovely venue. Would highly recommend.

   As you are aware we had booked a table for 2 at 7pm Mon 26 Aug. This booking was confirmed. When we arrived we at 6.50pm we were informed last orders had already been called as they were closing early for the night. Night impressed.

    We came to this restaurant twice. Once on a Friday. Where there was only one member of staff and a chef. They did amazing.
