Fantastic place to eat, great location, outstanding food, excellent service. I cannot fault the lunch we had. We had Goats cheese salad & ham hock bon bons for starters with fish pie and american burger as mains.

Having had a really good experience last summer I was looking forward to a special Sunday lunch but unfortunately I was a little disappointed. Firstly my wife and I ordered two coffee's, when they arrived one was a lot colder than the other. The heating wasn't working and we had sit with coats on throughout the meal which wasn't throughout most comfortable experience. I know these issues arise but even owner came into the restaurant and said herself it's freezing in here but it nice cosy earlier in the morning but didn't seem to be able to sort it out. From my previous visit I had raved to wife how good the burger was so she ordered one but it was just a bit disappointing. Was told it came with coleslaw but didn't appear to have any and no crispy onions as advertised on the menu. I had the roast chicken which was a little dry and very few root veg but overall it was nice but at £21 perhaps a little expensive for the quality of meal. The service was really good and both cleanliness and decor is spot on.

Food was excellent, had Sunday roast dinner. Couldn’t fault it. Veg was not over cooked so still had bite. Roast beef was still pink and so soft it melted. Roast potatoes were crispy. Unfortunately the service was shocking. We actually didn’t receive any service, we had to call the waiting staff over for everything as they didn’t come to our table once to check on us and the restaurant was freezing. We were so cold by the end and we wolfed our food because we didn’t want it getting cold because temperature in the restaurant was so cold. Such a shame as the food and location were great!

Friendly welcome. Very quiet but the atmosphere was nice with a wood burner going. The salad leaves with my pate did not seem very fresh and the bread was not toasted. The pate was nice. The ham hock bon bons were nice but found a large chunk of bone in one. Unfortunately although on the menu, there was no fish of the day. Surprisingly there was no steak on the menu. The burger was nice but did not come with the dill pickle as stated on the menu and had to order a side salad as none came with the burger. The fish pie was nice as was the apple crumble. Hopefully things will pick up for them, but a few improvements are required.

Lovely lunch catch up with a friend, we sat and chatted, the staff were there when we wanted something but left us alone the rest of the time. Food was delicious

Birthday treat meal this time with a Gluten Free guest who found the Beer Battered Fish & Chips excellent. Difficult to find venues with so many GF options and flexibility for fussy eaters like moi! Vegan wine options cool. Highly recommended

Local isn’t always best, but in this case it is very close. The festive themed Arancini were surprisingly good, paired with Aioli - an unusual combo which somehow worked well. We are lucky to be so near and will return next week for a special meal. Avoiding the Christmas chaos that is Norwich at this time of year too!

First visit in a while, so hoping things had improved. Friendly greeting to a very quiet place. Had a woodburner going which was pleasant. They had Aspall back on, which was a bonus and the price of their drinks is very good compared to other places. At least you do not get ripped off for a dash of coke! The selection of bread was nice if a bit expensive. My sardine starter was very nice. Our main dishes were okay but nothing to get too excited about. The cheesecake was nice, but once again, for what it was, expensive. There was enough choice on the menu to return and give it another go. The place is well decorated and tables set out nicely, although the napkin not the best. We were disappointed the owner did not speak, bearing in mind, we were probably only 2 of 10 at most, in the place. I hope things pick up for them, possibly need something else to attract people over these cold winter nights.
