   If you are going to New River Gorge National Park (and you definitely should), there is only one premier restaurant in Fayetteville (called The Gaines Estate) and one premier restaurant 25 minutes north in Summersville (The Vault). We strongly encourage anyone visiting this area to give your business to both restaurants since their prices are reasonable and the food a cut above (way above) the burgers and pizza you will get at other restaurants. The Vault's atmosphere is superb - located in the heart of downtown in a refurbished, historic bank building with a large bank vault (hence the name) dominating the first floor, high ceilings, and white linens on the tables. The vegeteble flat bread was outstanding; the wine selection very good (which is saying alot for this area); and the service very efficient and friendly. We enjoyed chicken piccata with angel hair pasta and a filet mignon with asparagus and a baked potato. Both of these restaurants cannot survive without strong tourist traffic - the local community cannot sustain them (as evidenced by both conversation we enjoyed and number of people dining). Do future travelers a big favor and keep these two restaurants alive.

   Come and unlock great good and superb service at The Vault on Main! We were staying at Babcock State Park and wanted a special meal for our last night as well as my husband's birthday. I found The Vault online and it has great reviews. For some reason, I didn't expect it was going to be in an old bank with a vault! We had a little trouble finding the place at first not thinking it would be in a huge bank building. But that just added to the charm of the restaurant. Inside was on the small but intimate side. The food was great and the service was fantastic. The prices also were reasonable. It's a fun place to go if you are in the area. I wonder if you can eat in the vault? That would be a really fun experience.

   Lovely place, young staff are doing their best to provide a fine dining experience. My salmon was great, but unfortunately my friend’s burger was just about raw inside. She had asked for it to be done. So i was disappointed to see her just eating her asparagus. The waiter offered to make another one, but by then we were nearly finished. Not the great restaurant experience i hoped, but a lovely venue in a small town.

   We were really happy with our experience. Definitely a different feeling dining in a bank. The service was great and we were blown away by the food. Will definitely dine there again when we are back in town

   We found this gem of a restaurant while visiting New River Gorge. It is in an old bank building in downtown Summersville. We were greeted by our host/server Chaz and seated at a comfortable upstairs table over looking the lower bank area. The freshly made cocktails arrived quickly and were great. We ordered the local filet mignon and a Caesar’s salad with freshly cooked shrimp. Both were prepared perfectly and delicious. Chaz was very attentive even though the restaurant was short staffed and very busy. I would highly recommend a visit if you are in the area.

   Our server was attentive and professional, the timing and pacing of the meal was perfect. It was a beautiful dinner, thoughtfully prepared and delicious.

   Food and service were great. Enjoyed both the brined pork chop and steak. For the steak, they had never heard of "Pittsburgh Rare" but it came out perfectly. We left our credit card and our server, knowing that we were travelling, went out of her way to called local hotels and found us. Fantastic!

    Our 3rd time at The Vault, and we won't be going back. Food quality has gone downhill over the past couple of years and had our server attempting to play bartender, so dry martinis (one of their specialty drinks) were terrible.
