Excellent Sunday lunch, not great service as the waitress couldn't get the order right, but the food made up for it. Decent value.

Really lovely Sunday lunch at the Two Pigs! 4 lovely Sirloin beef roasts, puddings and starters! Staff very attentive, lovely atmosphere, beautifully presented food, great portion sizes. Roast potatoes were a big favourite! Excellent value for money - would definitely return again for a meal soon.

Overall, our experience was good but there were a couple of shortcomings. Food - We ordered the beetroot and goats cheese for starters. It was lovely apart from the croutons, which we assumed had been deep fried a couple of times and were rock solid. They were inedible, unless you fancied a visit to the dentist afterwards. The steak for the main was very tasty but too salty and the fries overcooked. The custard tart for desert was very disappointing. It is served cold and lacked flavour, more nutmeg sprinkled on top might have helped or served warm. We expected more from this renowned chef and his team. Service - The young waiting staff were doing their best but missed some obvious things that they will gain with experience, such as cutlery being placed before the food arrives. Getting the orders right. (We had to wait a few minutes for one of the deserts as it had been left off the order and then when the bill came we were charged for three! ) Ambience - we ate upstairs and the ambience was good but the chairs are incredibly uncomfortable. The top of the chair pushes you forward leaving you no support for the rest of your back. Drinks- My husband enjoyed their own two pigs beer and the wine was good. However, the wines are expensive. £69 for a Rioja and £92 for a pretty standard champagne is a bit steep; no matter how good they are. We were not fine dining when all said and done, so we opted for the £30 Merlot and this was fine. Overall - Would we go back? Yes, of course we would. We live in the village and will always support our local businesses. It is a new venture with one or two teething problems but what a great place it is. They just need to focus on the food, we expected better. If the food is great, then the price is incidental.

We were really looking forward to trying the Two pigs as The Boat is one of our favourite restaurants. We were under no illusions that was not The Boat but we know how passionate Liam us about service, great food and attention to detail. 2 of us had Liams fried chicken, which was just the chicken piled on a plate. One liver parfait with was served with on small slice o bread and one crab which was nice but very sloppy, more dressing than crab. For mains it was steak x2 adequate well cooked but nothing amazing. The gnocchi lacked flavour very unseasoned and in honesty bland. The cod fish was well cooked but it came with four thin slices of courgette which had zero flavour. Dessert was next we opted for 3 cheeseboard a parfait and custard tart the custard tart and parfait were the highlights of the meal. These cheese board at 12.50 was the low point 3 tiny slices of cheese one cracker (we asked for more and were told there were non left and a few grapes sliced so finely they were limp. Really poor value and in addition my cracker was so well done I couldn't eat half of it. In addition the waiting staff while pleasant were not knowledgeable about the food offering. They had to check every dish with the kitchen. The table wasn't cleared quickly drinks glasses piled up. Wexwould understand this if it was busy but the other tables in our area were empty. Also the table itself wasn't level and I had to keep repositioning my plate and glass. Overall it was a disappointing experience and overpriced for average food and service. We will go again to see if it was a one off but ther are similar venues I'd rate more highly.

Really enjoyed a lovely lunch with family over from USA. Refurbishment great and lovely atmosphere. Staff were friendly and efficient. Food was excellent, particularly enjoyed:- Starters - scotch egg, chicken liver parfait, beetroot, whipped goats cheese and pumpkin seed. Main course - Beef burgers (good quality beef) perfectly cooked to order. Delicious chips. Deserts - Sticky toffee pudding with honeycomb, rum and raisin ice cream and Custard tart and Chantilly. Good coffee too! Would recommend and we look forward to returning soon.

Our first trip to the Two Pigs as a family of 3. Booked well in advance for Sunday lunch. Had already browsed the menu online so had a good idea of what to expect. Staff very welcoming, attentive and prompt. All courses tasty and presented well. Food served hot where applicable. Would advise some extra veg with dinner as listed on the menu otherwise good portions. Very happy to see my favourite drink on the menu. Thanks to whoever made my gin martini aperitif just perfect. Hope the business continues to thrive. Will definitely be back. Many thanks.
