Liam and the team behind The Boat are proud to bring to you a modern neighbourhood pub in the beautiful village of Barton-Under-Needwood.

Soak up sun in the garden with a cocktail, or in the winter find a seat inside next to the log burner. Our focus is on modern pub classics with a twist.

Offering breakfast at weekends and a classic Sunday Lunch. We also have space for hire, for private parties, birthdays, meetings or even to kick back for a sporting event.

Inspired by Betty and Peggy our 4 legged residents at our sister restaurant The Boat, where we’ve cultivated our land for crops and created a sustainable eco-system with a focus on reducing waste.

Overall good experience. We thought music upstairs was a little overbearing for a Sunday lunchtime. Food was very good although extra veg served separately could have done with being a little warmer and they missed the Yorkie off the lamb dinner. Service was good. Check your bill before paying as they.put an extra pint on ours but removed it when we pointed out the error. All in all enjoyed our lunch but will probably not go back!

Absolutely fabulous. I was with a group of friends and we all thought it was lovely. We couldn’t fault anything. The food was delicious and the service excellent. Our waitress was lovely, so efficient and friendly without being intrusive. It was so good we’ve already booked to go back next month.

We visited for Sunday lunch. Menu price is incorrect on the website £18.50 for beef when it is actually £22. Overall very expensive for food and drinks. Not a huge amount for Sunday dinner. Cauliflower cheese at £6 is only enough for 1 person. Don’t think I would return as had far better and cheaper elsewhere.
