It was disappointing that a pub had no ale, only lager; and that they had run out of at least one type of wine on their wine list. Our disappointment was compounded by the fact that they brought main courses for two of us at least 20 minutes before the other two - this despite the fact that we had been asked to place our order a week in advance - and did not offer any form of compensation until prompted: though to be fair, they did offer us a free round of drinks, or a bottle of prosecco, which we accepted.

Nice pub with fantastic beer garden. Service wasn’t great and pub didn’t seem very clean.

Solid gastropub with more than solid service. One of our party was in a wheelchair, we turned up with one extra guest, and the mostly young staff could not have been more helpful and accommodating. Food is highly competent rather than spectacular, and a little pricey, but the spacious bistro area and cheerful service make for a good all-round experience.

Very disappointed, have used many times before, but this time very poor. Booked well in advance but got make-shift table at end of bar area next to loos, main restaurant not open. Half an hour before order taken, hour before main course arrived, food ok but nothing special. Had to go up to bar to get service. Clearly they did not have enough staff.

My nephew has some significant allergies including eggs, all tree nuts, all forms of dairy and seasame which require an epi pen. The staff and chef was really accommodating and were anle to make something completely separate for him which was a huge relieve and for once made him feel part of the meal, having his good come from the kitchen. Really lovely Sunday lunch Plus they accept dogs so win/win

Went for Sunday lunch. First to be served. Roast beef was tasteless and over cooked at 12.30! Over cooked carrots and plate padded out with Savoy cabbage2 of us had that culinary delight. My son had a burger which was over cooked and dry. He even commented how quickly the food came out...an indication that it had already been cooked and then reheated perhaps. Will not return.

When I first suggested this to my dining partner her immediate reaction was "Bit pricey for Pub Grub!" This is to miss the point slightly for although, indeed, the Telegraph is a Pub, this definitely is NOT Pub Grub! I guess it is what they now describe as European, and as such was fair value. The food itself compares very well to many up-market establishments in this area charging considerably more. There is an extensive wine list, but we went for the house wines, which were very acceptable. The only (debatable) downside was that on the Saturday evening we attended there were few other diners. I felt also that the the lighting could have been better designed... pools of light over tables is preferable to the general overall illumination we experienced. The staff were very friendly and helpful, but then they weren't busy. Parking can be limited... I've visited the pub on a number of occasions in the past as it really is as if you've driven out to "the countryside"... except people live there as well and need to park. I sometimes feel the management should pay a little more attention to cleaning the tables, but then I'm fussy about that sort of thing. Overall, The Telegraph will remain on my favourites list.
