   We were the only people for dinner. It was obvious that we were just a nuisance and they’d rather we left as soon as possible. At 8.30pm they started locking up, looking at their watches and regularly asking if we wanted anything else. Code for leave as soon as possible! We were celebrating a birthday & as a treat asked for something for dessert that was off the menu but very simple to do. No way. We were a party of 6 & none of us will go there again while the current owners and staff are there. It was very disappointing.

   I am sorry you felt that way. As you say you were the only ones left in a restaurant that normally closes at 8pm during the weekdays as advertised online and on site, so the staff did in fact stay open later than normal by almost an hour for you and your guests. It is disappointing to hear that you did not appreciate that. With no chef on site after 8pm when the special dessert request was made the staff had to refuse because they cannot just make special desserts they are untrained to make for food safety reasons no matter how simple you think it is. The owner was on site on Wednesday so you could have escalated a complaint to them in person and we would have attempted to fix the issue on the night rather than having you resort to having to post this review on a small rural business.

   Our friends have been travelling for 6 weeks within Victoria and said it was the best steak he's had in that whole time. Delicious meals, great service, beautiful outdoor setting amongst the trees. Been there 3 times in 2 weeks and it has been AAA every time

   Whilst it is nice that the wait staff, checked that we were happy, it became annoying when asked at least 4-5 times

   It's a beautiful traditional pub, classy and elegant but not pretentious. The log fire was welcoming and cosy on a chilly September day. The landlady and our waitress were friendly, welcoming and quietly efficient. And as for the food ... wow! Everything very nicely presented, tasty and those pork ribs just melt in your mouth. Great value for money and highly recommended

   One main came before entree which is pathetic service in my book. Cheesy garlic bread should be just called cheesy bread as it lacked garlic. Calamari was nice dish but was more chips than calamari- I mean very little calamari. Steak sandwich should be called salad sandwich as it lacked steak. When asked ‘how was the meal?’ And I responded with ‘it was average!’ It was like I was not allowed my opinion of the food as the staff member did not want to accept my comments. Simply - was a nice location and pub ambiance but the food options we chose were poor and we won’t be going back.

   Hi Leon Sorry you had a bad experience. We made over 100 meals that day and unfortunately your meals didn't go out as planned. We also would like to remind people we are a pub not a restaurant. We do our best in giving everyone the best as possible for a pub that is out in the middle of the countryside.

   Great atmosphere and food. The staff were friendly and helpful. We didn’t have to wait long for our food but I would recommend booking on weekends as we did or you might miss out.

   This was my first experience at this pub but will be back - living in the area and have heard lots about this pub and will be back! Hoping to have our end of year Christmas breakup here!! Lovely meal, great atmosphere and lovely cheeky staff - we’ll done
