Hotel Bethlehem has a reputation as being a very good place to eat/visit. There is tons of historic value to this site. Over recent years as I have patronized this business, we have repeatedly been disappointed with the food. However, they nicely accommodated our party since we have several elderly ladies with us and had parking secured close to the entrance! Thank you. The presentation of food was good and menu selection good as well. However, the food is served "warm" not hot, and the taste just isn't there. We ordered "lump crab cakes" with aioli and slaw sandwiches. There was no aioli and the sandwiches were dry. No lump crab in the cakes, but pieces of white crab meat with lots of filler but no taste. There was a slight fishy taste which to me means it's not fresh. They do not offer tartar sauce, which is disappointing. Three crab cake meals that were not eaten were comp'd, which we appreciated, but would have rather been able to eat them and gladly pay for a good meal. I ordered the lobster roll which was better than the crab cakes, but the melted "butter" was merely oil with no buttery/salty taste. Three of our four meals had luke-warm fries. The Arnold Palmer iced tea was good and so was the coffee, served hot and strong. The caramel crunch cake was so-so, cold caramel and not much flavor. The cherry crumb al a mode was pretty good. Our waiter was very attentive and apologized for the crab cake disappointment. We tipped him well. Delivery of our food was slow but that could have been the kitchen's fault. Note: there was not a wedding or other event during the time we were there. No idea why things were so slow. All in all, I don't think I'll be back. It's a shame because the ambiance and beauty of this historic place is awesome. They just need to increase the quality and flavor of their food.

There was a very nice New Zealand sauvignon blanc on the wine list. We each enjoyed a glass of it. Chicken soup was hearty and just a tad spicy. Dinner rolls were warm and crusty, and more were brought when our servers saw that we'd eaten our first ones. The salmon and crab cakes were attractively plated and delicious. Portions were generous. We enjoyed the live music of a professional jazz trio while we dined. Live jazz is offered on Thursdays, so we have dinner at the Hotel Bethlehem regularly on that night of the week for that reason.

Jazz trio was very good. However We’re settled too close to th stage for easy conversation. Steak sandwhich with onions, mushrooms, red bell peppers and sauce had too much sauce. The other ingredients would have been delicious and shined through with less sauce. Would definitely go again. More like $$$$ for tavern menu and drinks. Full menu is much more expensive.

The experience was excellent. Our server, Faith, was attentive and actually intuitive for our needs. Meals were exactly what was ordered, and excellently prepared. This was another all-around fine dining experience at the Tap Room!

The mussels and beet salad were delicious. The shrimp tempura needed help, but it was good. We had a cocktail of pear and rosemary, was very good

Food was so so, particularly for the price at $50/person and a buffet. Would’ve preferred something a la cart but that’s not available apparently between 10a-2p on Sunday’s.
