The Sword Inn Hand is a 14th Century Free House with guest rooms nestled in the beautiful rural Hertfordshire village of Westmill, a mile south of the market town of Buntingford. With bar, dining room, mature landscaped gardens and charming country inspired guest rooms, it is the perfect countryside retreat for drinking, dining and relaxing. Seasonal produce is delivered to us daily by our fantastic local suppliers, and we pride ourselves on serving delicious fine food and traditional ales. Our friendly yet professional customer service and warm, relaxing atmosphere inspires our lovely customers to return week after week, and welcomes new visitors from far and wide. Owner, Jeremy Lee and his fantastic team look forward to making your visit a special one to remember.

    Wonderful gastro pub in a beautiful village. Menu choice is great. Food is absolutely top notch! No one in our party could fault any of the dishes we had. Great size portions. Staff very attentive.

    I have been coming here for years and have always loved the service particularly the attention from the owner and front of house. It is in a beautiful location, great ambience and the variety of drinks on offer is very good. However, the food menu on offer has been disappointing. If you want a standard pub offer of Fish & chips, Ham & eggs etc, that's fine. They do have a specials menu but if you want a choice without pork, ham, bacon, there is little to choose from - not very imaginative. We will still come here, because we like the place, enjoy the service and like to support local business, but not as frequently as we have done in the past.

    Lovely food, piping hot served on hot plates which is always a must. Fish and chips was delicious, crunchy batter, lovely white fish, crispy chips, order the burger aswell, again delicious, nice and hot and generous filling, nacho cheese sauce lovely , it's our to go to pub for dinner now, will book for Sunday Lunch as soon as work allows.
