   Excellent! I am not a fish person normally but I thoroughly enjoyed the cod, which had a very subtle and delicious sauce, and was generously portioned. My husband and I both had, and loved, the dressed crab starter; it was also very generously portioned with pleasing accoutrements. (Many places are stingy when you order crab so this was great.) Overall an excellent experience with attentive service and can't wait to come back. A top 5 restaurant in coastal Suffolk.

   It was Valentine’s but you wouldn’t have known - nothing on the tables no Special no roses no romantic music staff not dressed up

   Our fourth and last visit. No longer a fine dining experience. The menu is very limited for vegetarians and what is on offer is very poorly presented. If you are looking for fine dining in Suffolk I would look elsewhere.

   We were worried about limited/expensive menu options (as using a gift voucher). But they had a weekend special that was truly excellent value (£15 for chicken pie, mash and a drink) We added a side of brocoli which made a great meal for a Sunday lunch. Food was excellent. The staff were engaging attentive and friendly - not overbearing. The ambience was great and we were in no hurry to leave!!

   Excellent evening at the Suffolk. Every aspect was excellent starting with the service (I had somehow managed to book the wrong date but they still accommodated us). The food, cocktails and wine were all excellent. Really can’t find anything even slightly negative to say. Looking forward to going back!

   We were saddened that there was no snails or lobster available but once we selected alternatives they were delicious. Staff were warm welcoming.

   The staff are excellent and very friendly. Delicious celeriac soup and scallops. Main course of braised oxtail with parsley dumplings very tasty but very dry so couldn’t finish it. Needed extra gravy to lubricate. Delicious coffee.

   It was my wife's birthday, and she chose the venue which was a 3 hr round trip. I loaded up my card with £200 in anticipation of a great lunch. The restaurant was empty, the service was atrocious, I had to ask where our starters were and then where were our main courses. When my wife's pan fried bass (main) eventually arrived it was so overcooked she had to send it back as at £38 it was just inedible. My filet steak (au poivre) at £42 was a tiny piece of meat that could not have cost more than £7-£8 at a butcher, it didn't taste of much, although the au poivre sauce was reasonable. The restaurant accepted my wife's complaint and deducted the cost of the Bass and her single glass of wine. Nevertheless the Bill I paid was £77 for 3 mouthfuls of steak, 3 scallops (indifferently cooked) and one Steak Tartare (starter), 1 bottle of fizzy water and a ginger beer. Avoid!

    Exceptional food Busy and a great vibe Service was hit and miss but it was very busy and the staff were lovely
