    Shared a beet salad which was very good. The braised short ribs were very tasty and the portion was very generous, served with broccolini and fingerling potatoes. The bread was freshly baked and served with not only oil, but also homemade hummus and a beet spread. Spouse had the lamb shank which he said was also very good.

    There is never a time I am disappointed going to The Standard. The food is always exceptional. Servers are on top of it and never had an empty glass. The ambiance is so nice. A great adult date night or girls night to have a delicious dinner with great company, great food, and great drinks. Their wine list is great and their bar extensive. They always have chef specials which I love to try. This time was their rabbit with lemon risotto and it was exceptional. Highly recommend this gem!

    The Standard. Yes It's on E 185. This is not the E 185 of 40 years ago. Its all shiny and new up and down the strip. This used to be a bar I frequented often and oh my how times have changed for the better. This establishment offers an eclectic menu with subtle middle eastern influence. You can have as much or little of that influence as you wish. For appetizers We had the Ceviche and Asparagus soup. Ceviche had perfect acid, knife work, and taste which made it easy to love.. The two things you can ask for in asparagus soup is velvety smooth and taste. Both were accomplished. The second course was eggplant rotellini expertly crafted and octopus with capers and red onion. Ocopus can be tricky but not here, again expertly crafted, The entrees were branzino and lamb shank risotto. The fish was deboned at the table making it a true culinary experience. I did not anticipate a whole lamb shank with my risotto but what a presentation. I expected great food.I expected great service. I expected a great culinary experience that our server, Isabella, the kitchen, and every member of that staff provided. You do not need downtown, or Vegas to have a culinary experience to remember. In the long run, with this being local, the value is off the charts.

    This is an outstanding dining experience from every aspect. We had a guest from Morocco who really appreciated the authenticity of the Moroccan dishes on the menu.

    This was a surprise birthday dinner for my husband. We appreciated that we received a call that there was a large group with a 7pm reservation which was the same time as ours. We were asked if we minded pushing our reservation back to 7:15pm. This was not a problem. We were asked to please wait for a few minutes upon arrival as people were running over on leaving. The hostess apologized which was much appreciated. We ran into some friends as soon as we arrived who were already at a table. It was their first experience at The Standard too. The hostess very kindly asked if we’d like the table next to our friends. We happily accepted. Isabella did a splendid job of serving us! She was very attentive and helpful! We even started a conversation with a couple on the other side of us who were celebrating her husband’s birthday too. Another first time visit! This was such an outstanding evening! The ambience, service, staff and food were all magnificent! I was a bit disappointed that my lobster and shrimp bisque did not have any pieces of shrimp or lobster but the serving sizes were very ample. We love all of the attention to detail and do plan to return!

    First let me say that our server, Max, was VERY nice! He was very polite and when he served us was very courteous, however, we waited EXTREMELY long for our food (other guests had come after us and were getting their food at the same time or before us) and had really long periods where noone came to check on us. There were no seasonings, which was needed, at the table but our food, for the most part was good. We were seated almost right in front of the door...which was horrible. It was extremely cold out so when people entered the establishment, and it was busy (valentines day) it blew that winter air on anyone in the vicinity. It really brought the enjoyment of our dining experience down significantly. My wife and I were also not wowed by the drinks we ordered. Overall the evening was a solid 2 out of 5. Would not return.

    Well first I wasn’t particularly happy about sitting upstairs for my bf first experience here, but I tried it out anyway. There were 2 of us total and We ordered 4 oysters and our meal . We arrived at 8:00 and didn’t receive our appetizer until 9:00 and our entree until 9:50. That is unacceptable. The stuffed salmon was dry and the broccoli was undercooked. The braised short rib was good . I understand it was a busy day but do not book reservations if you are unable to provide exceptional service to all guests . I’ve been to the Standard on multiple occasions and this turned me sour . Even when we asked the server on the status of our food she replied it would be out shortly… I asked her if she was sure because we were literally about to pay for our 2 oysters ( we were still waiting on the other 2) and walk out . The food still didn’t come until another 40 min after that ! Although I have been to the Standard on multiple occasions my boyfriend hadn’t and he was totally turned off from the experience.

    Valentines Day and my birthday. We usually stay in, but decided to venture out and made a reservation. We were seated in a very small room upstairs with only 3 tables. One other couple was seated with us, so it was nice and quiet. Walking up and down the dark stairs was a small problem for me, but I managed. Our waitress, Madelyn, was pleasant and accommodating. The menu was a bit limited due to the holiday, and they had a couple specials, twin lobster tails for $120 or $130 or filet with lobster for the same price. They gave us 2 small rolls with hummus, dipping oil and a tapenade. That was good. We could get additional bread for $5. The romaine wedge was fresh, plentiful and delicious. I love Maytag blue cheese dressing. I was not a fan of the menu selections. On this evening they did not offer the hangar steak, unfortunately, and Im not fond of fillet. The other 2 steak options were a 20 oz and 16 oz for $60 and $70. They had a couple lamb options. For seafood they had a paella, bouillabaisse and cioppino that had a spicy sauce tomate. I opted for the salmon dinner for $28 that was served with broccolini and fingerling potatoes over the salmon stuffed with crab $60. I was really looking forward to a basic seafood with risotto offering or a steak 10-12 oz. The entree prices were $28/30 or $60 with nothing in between. My husband got the short rib entree $30 with same sides. Our meals were ok, nothing stellar. While I'm sure some will enjoy the menu, it was not for us, therefore we won’t be back. My suggestion would be to offer one or two simpler items, smaller steaks, basic seafood options.
