Located in the leafy area of Bowdon, The Stamford is a modern interpretation of pubs from a bygone era; a social space enjoyed by the local community and visitors alike, serving the wider Altrincham, Hale and Cheshire area.

We offer a fresh food a la carte menu alongside lunch specials throughout the pub and a crowd-pleasing set price menu on a Sunday, including our famous mixed meat roasts.     Very nice meal and everyone enjoyed the food. The service was okay but no check back, had to chase them down to get drinks, cutlery and sauces. Nothing major but it was fairly quiet, no real reason for that. Didn’t deserve the 12% service charge they add on.

    Very good value gif money, warm and cosy, and a lovely atmosphere. The young man serving behind the bar, and also taking and serving the pub meals, was absolutely charming. So very professional and helpful - nothing g was too much trouble for in. A real asset to the Stamford Arms. ….. He needs a pay rise!

    Roast dinner is so hit and miss here. Today was terrible. Won’t be eating there again which is a shame because it’s my local

    The staff were absolutely fantastic on a very busy New Years Day. There was a wonderful atmosphere and the food was delicious.

    The best pub! Beautifully decorated. Fabulous food and drink and wonderful staff. Great atmosphere and The Sunday night quiz was great addition! We are so lucky to have it as our local!

    The food was not good. The pasta dish was very ininspiring, it looked like pasta with a tin of tomatoes thrown in; very small serving, probably just as well. My steak pie was tasty, but again very small. The mushy pees were dry. Fish meals were well over cooked. The humus was, again, very dry and the pitta bread was rock hard. Service was good, so long as you went to the bar yourself to buy your drinks. But the staff were very friendly. Ambiance, and decor were excellent. The bill for the eight of us was £380; it was not good value. The house red wine was very poor. Sorry, but we will not be going back there.

    Always such a pleasure at The Stamford, food is amazing the staff are outstanding and the pub itself is very well kept.
