    Excellent evening, great food the Galician Chateaubriand was especially good, great service from a very knowledgeable waiter and some special touches made for our anniversary. Restaurant was slightly loud, but it was a busy Friday night so to be expected.

    I went here for my mum and brothers birthday on Saturday night and left quite disappointed. We arrived for our 5.30pm booking and still had to wait for our table. I’d like to point out that the waiting staff were fantastic; really attentive and lovely. However, the food is where things fell short. Burned and chewy scallops and a medium-rare steak for £42 that refused to break down no matter how long I chewed it for. I’ve never had a steak before that looked perfectly medium rare yet was so hard to eat. The searing was a bit much also, with most of the steak tasting like char. The desserts were quite good however. I did feel quite bad as the staff genuinely came over about 5 times to ask how the food was before I finally commented on the chewiness of the steak as I never like to complain. Again, really lovely servers. Perhaps we went on a bad night, however for the price there are much better steakhouses in both Edinburgh and Glasgow.
