   This place is hit and miss— tonight was a total miss. Why? How does it feel when you show for a reservation at 9pm for a restaurant that closes at 10 and then practically everyone working there just wants you to leave? Our waiter was great but he was let down by the front desk and everyone else. First off, as we were seated, we were told that the kitchen closes at 9:30. Then when the food came out we were told that last call was also at 9:30. (Note that the hours of operation were until 10). Our party of four ordered the seafood tower which came out with one lemon wedge, one shellfish fork, no hand wipes, and no description of anything on the tower. Oh, and the manager and most staff changed into street clothes and watched us expectantly as we finished our meal (before 10). I have been going here routinely and I’m so done with this place.

   Food just ok didn’t have the oysters because waiter forgot to put order in… crab roll just ok… was cold instead of hot which we thought we were ordering

   Our first visit at this location after a lackluster experience at their virginia location (I had the north shore roast beef, it was nothing like what you'd get up there in Beverly or elsewhere). But this visit wasn't any better. On the plus side were a cocktail that was interesting and good, although at $17 not in any way a bargain nor would I get a second. I think my wife's wife was fine. And to round out the plus side, I did like my NE clam chowder as well as a set of raw littleneck clams served on the half-shell on crushed ice with lemon and cocktail sauce and I think malt vinegar (is that a new england thing?). But the mains were a disappointment: my wife's red snapper was cooked appropriately but seemed not so fresh, and my crab roll was a big mush of mayo and other add-ins which drowned and drowned out the flavor of whatever crab might have been in there. There were not a lot of other items we would try on the menu, so I think this was a "one and done" for us. A last note about service: if you're going to use a team basis, I think you really have to find some way for the various servers to communicate. Not even counting those who brought our food and drinks, we had three different servers stopping by, each asking if anyone had helped us or did we need anything or were we waiting on anything. None had any idea of the status of our dinner, but somehow they seemed to think dropping in and asking us how it was going was helpful. The approach needs to be rethought.

   Thank you Andy for your Salt Line Tour between our Virginia and MD locations, but of course disappointed to see it does not seem we were on our A game on either visit. We of course never enjoy hearing such feedback, but I do assure you we are listening and very much take it to heart whenever a guest takes the time to share it with us. We have shared your feedback with our kitchen and service teams and they will definitely review your visit further with team and address where we could improve. That lackluster type of experience is certainly not a typical Salt Line experience - if it were we certainly wouldn't have the success and loyal following that we do throughout the DMV. Hope you will see fit to give us another try and we can regain your confidence in The Salt Line.

   This place is great, the food was excellent as well as the service. Make sure you have a reservation though.

    Our experience was fine. I had read about the burger and came for that. My guest asked if bacon could be added to this burger. Although there is bacon present on the menu the request was denied. My guest then opted for the roast beef sandwich and I had the burger. We both enjoyed our sandwiches. We were shocked at how fast our food was delivered to our table but unfortunately our fries were cold. Our waitress was great. And, the dessert menu was a must look. Overall: we’d come back. We hope they reconsider the bacon policy. That would make that burger fantastic
