   It was Mothers Day so yes very busy. We arrived & were initially told we were sitting at a high table (my mum is 86yrs old & not able to be climbing a high stool) so had to say no. After trying to sort a table was sat outside kitchen door & till area. DO NOT sit at this table if you can choose. We were under continous observation & once we had eaten were approached 3/4 times to see if we needed anything else or ask if we had finished. I was still eating my ice cream!!! It made us all feel very uncomfortable & as if we were being pushed to finish & leave. I didn't mention thus to the head waiter guy. Ordered 2 Royal roasts & a turkey roast which as always was delicious. Was a disappointing visit on this occasion just because of how we were made to feel. It was very obvious you needed the table back.

   Disappointed meal , order tapas , which all came together, no warming plates so food cold time we got through the courses. We had goats cheese on a disgusting fried piece of ? Bread 2 tiny pieces of cold fatty lamb £11 !!!! Soggy cold basa fish And chips with no truffle as stated Soggy prawns with a square of what looked like cake but was some kind of bread Only decent tapas from all 5 dishes was the pork loin which was lovely Not in a hurry to return I'm afraid. Dissatisfaction

   Had a super Sunday lunch at the Royal. The Roast beef and the Turkey was excellent along with the trimmings that went with it. First time visitor, and will be returning for sure.

   It's always very good here. We love having it as our local. Tonight the spring rolls were fab. The tuna was great but we felt it needed something else. Luckily we used the dips & salad that came with the spring rolls. Buffalo curry was tasty. Pheasnt Stroganoff was served with a cheese vol-au-vent which was really hard. I expected it to be light & flaky. I asked for another which was served in the sauce. We'll be back as the food is generally 10/10

   Great choice of food where you can choose a selection to suit your appetite. The lunch deal is amazing value, great service, nice surroundings, especially in the Conservatory.
