    Quaint little bar that has some legs. You walk into what seems like a mainstream bar with a long alley bumped up against a stylish saloon bar. The backdrop is lined with mirrors adorned bottle after bottle of anything you could want. In the back is the main seating area which opens up into spacious seating. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was atentative and our drinks came quickly. The menu was plentiful and the food came out almost too quickly. The food was very good. The next day we wandered into the liquor store which is attached next door and picked up a nice bottle of hooch. This isn’t our first rodeo, we returned from last year.

    I've had many meals at the Retriever Bar and I've never been disappointed. Clam chowder is prepared the way it should be with fresh cream, not thickened with a roux or other flour-based thickeners. Seasoned with bacon in a more traditional flavor. Chicken sandwich is a very generous serving, smashed burgers on the mark, catfish cooked perfectly. Limited menu choices which means they concentrate on quality of their offerings instead of quantity of menu items. Of course there are many choices of fresh oysters and beverage options. Consistently good food.

    This town is so lucky to have this restaurant/bar! Hands down the best bar in town with a great selection and knowledgeable bartenders. It's also beautiful with classic styling. The food on the locally inspired menu is consistently good and can be eaten at the bar or in the large comfortably appointed dining room just past the bar. This is a warm and inviting place and I'm sure ill be back!
