The Red Door San Diego is committed to offering our guests sustainable and responsibly sourced farm-to-fork dishes. We proudly serve contemporary Italian and modern European cuisine with the freshest locally grown and handcrafted products available. We also feature delicious and unique ingredients from around the world. Chef/Owner Luciano Cibelli shops daily, personally selecting every item we serve. He bakes fresh breads, rolls, desserts and all of the pasta in house (including a special Gluten Free Bucatini) and he develops his menus in rhythm with the seasonal San Diego harvest.     We have enjoyed Red Door in the past and we decided to spend have our Christmas Eve dinner there. Unfortunately there wasn’t a second thought to decor… not a touch of Christmas in the restaurant and it just felt like a regular evening. It was very disappointing. We assumed there would have been a special ambiance for the holiday. It would have been best going elsewhere.

    We enjoyed a delicious Christmas Eve dinner! The Beef Wellington was excellent. Banana Cream pie was fantastic! My only suggestion would be to have non-alcoholic drink options. Dry Secco is perfect or some of the great beers . It would just be nice and make it special.

    Dinner was excellent. Some in our group had Salmon and others the short ribs. All excellent. Brussels sprouts are delicious. Chef/owner Luciano came out and introduced himself-nice touch! We will go back

    Service was great as soon as I got in the door, Ryan and the other staff were super friendly. We were told the specials and checked in throughout the meal. The food was what I expected, beef Wellington was yummy and the lamb shank fell right off the bone. Risotto was the right texture and was flavorful. I really enjoyed my steamed veggies too as they were perfectly buttery and seasoned.

    I love this restaurant. The food is delicious and the service fantastic. Great atmosphere in both the ‘jazz cafe’ and normal restaurant section. I take all my friends here.

    I ordered the beef wellington. It was the reason I went to The Red Door. The waiter warned me that they have trouble consistently cooking the wellington properly. I thought that was weird, but I gave it a chance anyway. Half of my filet was cooked perfectly. The other half was undercooked. Most of the pastry was undercooked.
