   We have been to Porters several times and always enjoyed a good meal and service. It’s also convenient for us. Our kids also enjoy the menu and quality of the food. The only downside is the wine menu changed. There used to be a digital menu with great selections and the prices for wine where acceptable. Roughly 100% mark up from retail which is nominal. There new fixed menu is over 300% mark up from retail and even more so on the lower end wines. We love a great bottle of wine but paying $250.00 for an $80.00 bottle is a bit much. We will still visit for sure but may have to bring our own unfortunately. We do like to support local restaurants.

   Our server was fast, efficient & friendly. I get It was a busy night but it was way too loud in the dining room. We couldn’t hear each other when we tried to have a conversation for that alone I probably won’t be back

   The Porters House was amazing! The food and service was exceptional. Our server, Asa made our groups experience so relaxed and enjoyable. He took the time to check with the kitchen regarding allergies for someone in our party. He explained the menu in detail and made sure everything was done properly. I just happened to pick The Porters House from a google search and completely lucked out. If I ever am in the Charlotte area, I will definitely dine here. I highly recommend Asa as a server because he made our dinner an event not just a dinner at a great place!! Thank You, Dr. David Allen

   We ordered the pork chop and the halibut. Honestly, for the price the pork chop it was thin. Small. It would do them well to try the pork chop at 131 Main, it’s at least four times as thick, much juicier, and has an amazing taste. My wife got the halibut, the Seasoning in the risotto, I believe it was rosemary, was way too strong. We really wanted this to be a win for us, as this is the fourth time we’ve been there. The price is way too high, and just not on par with other restaurants at this price point.

    Tonight, the food was excellent. Everything was cooked perfectly and all guests with us said their dishes were delicious! Staff was great, just the right balance of attentive, but not annoying. It’s so nice to have a really amazing dining experience!
