Warm greeting and comfortable table. Food was outstanding and we were very well looked after by our wonderful waitress. Calamari was possibly the best I have ever eaten and all our food was first class. Clean plates all round. Highly recommend … we will certainly be returning.

All four of us really enjoyed our food, both courses, even me, the vegetarian. Sue was lovely and very helpful. We will definitely be returning soon.

Booked for a friend's birthday evening meal. Shared 2 starters and the calamari and mushroom dishes were exceptionally tasty. The lamb rump and sirloin steak were excellent (although they did mix up the medium rare & rare orders). We all enjoyed our desserts very much but, for me, the sticky toffee was the best I have ever tasted and my wife particularly enjoyed the morello cherry sundae. The drinks also scored a hit with Timothy Taylor's Landlord (one of my particular favourites) on draught, a very balanced Merlot (without the overpowering blackcurrant taste that so many popular ones seem to think they need to have) and Frobisher's fruit juices. The service was spot-on. Not our local but not too far to go so we must return soon.

Very helpful welcome by Landlords father who was on duty that day. Friendly service, plenty of choice, good food and inexpensive. My steak pie was homemade, plenty of meat and well presented.

Went for an afternoon roast at 230pm. Greeted immediately and seated shortly thereafter. Everyone had a drink quite quickly and food arrived in an appropriate of wait time. The only complaint I would have would be that the food was not as hot as one would expect it to be. It wasn't overly busy at that time of day on a Sunday and I would have enjoyed it that much more if it had been hotter. Not that it wasn't tasty and well presented and plenty to eat. I would recommend The Plough in spite of this slight issue.
