   We went for lunch on a Friday. Only two people in restaurant. The food was heated in the microwave. Not air fried as description stated. The mushroom tasted burnt. Basically 32$ for polenta and a weird tasting mushroom. The cauliflower bites were slimming in sauce and not air fried. The waiter hovered over us and added a 20 percent tip to our bill. Again, two people and on one else in restaurant at lunch. **4/15/2025 Update: I wanted to send a measured response to the owner's reply stating my comments weren’t well-informed or well-intended. My review of the Plantry lunch experience on Friday April 11th was not ill intentioned. I am a busy working mom who rarely has time to leave reviews, however, with this experience I felt I needed to post a review. Perhaps the restaurant shines at private events such as the Tea Parties, private events, dinner. The lunch felt like an afterthought as the food was not fresh. For example, the gouda polenta seemed like it was several days old and contained no gouda. The mushroom had burnt aftertaste. The waiter recommended this dish. The other dish(cauliflower bites) was not air fried and was not dusted with cashew cheese, just swimming in buffalo sauce. No we did not send back or ask for another entree as we were an hour and a half into our lunch break. I did not say the waiter was overly attentive, but that the waiter hovered in a way that he would linger excessively leaving us no time to enjoy our conversation or experience. I’m sure with proper training, this will improve and I should’ve told him politely to give us space as we’d like to enjoy our meal. My bad on that one. For these reasons we gave the service 2. I complained about the auto gratuity of 20% even though we were a party of 2. Typically, auto gratuity is a service charge for large parties not for parties of two. I have no problem tipping but the auto gratuity of 20% on a party of two while the restaurant was empty at lunch was bothersome.

   Hi Terri, We don't own a microwave. The best time to give feedback about dishes is while you're at the restaurant to allow us to guide your selection towards other items if needed. If you'd like to purchase your own maitake you can find it at Whole Foods or Fresh Market, for $10-$12 a box. If you're not familiar with what you're ordering, we recommend more commonly selected items first. We notice you reported the waiter as overly attentive but then rated service as a 2/5 and complained about our policy of ensuring our servers are compensated. We don't find your comments well-informed much less well-intended, therefore we wish you the best at dining experiences elsewhere.

   Visited for the first time for Valentines Day and was excited to try vegan food in BR (not many options). Overall service was very poor; waited 1hr before getting our appetizer & another 40 min for entree, waiters did not know what was going on (saw multiple waiters bringing wrong food to tables several different times), and waiter only came to the table once every 30 min. Food had no seasoning and was undercooked. We were shocked at how poor the experience was for how much we paid. Only reason we stayed was because our credit card was held for the reservation and set event menu. Will not visit again.

   AWESOME dining experience! It was the perfect Valentine's Day environment to propose to my girlfriend. I really appreciate the way the owner accommodated us because it wouldn't have been as special for my fiancée and I if the owner hadn't made special provisions for us. The fact that the owner went out of her way for us speaks volumes to her willingness to go out of her way to make the dining experience exquisite for ALL of her patrons! My fiancée and I will recommend The Plantry Cafe to everyone we know! Thanks for making Valentine's Day 2025 so special!

   What a beautifully decorated and charming gem the Plantry Cafe is! My friend and I had a wonderful dinner experience, and although I am not vegan, everything we had was delicious! The Peartini was a great vodka based cocktail, very smooth and not overly sweet. We had the flat bread, Brussels, roasted Maitake, and the trio of Sliders. All were great, but the roasted Maitake over Gouda polenta was a 20/10, chefs kiss! Service and ambiance were excellent. Thank you for making our first visit worthwhile and memorable! We will definitely be back.

   A group of friends met for lunch. The restaurant is decorated so well & the plant based food was delicious! Everyone enjoyed the experience especially Dr. Crifasi telling us about how she started The Plantry!

   This is our 2nd time at this restaurant and it is still impressive in the creativity of the chef/owner in what she can do with vegan dishes. I will definitely go back. Great and unusual experience.

   The restaurant is beautiful, and the meal and service were excellent. The ingredients were healthy and very fresh, and the combination of flavors made for a delicious meal. This is one of the best natural food restaurants I have frequented and the best one in Baton Rouge, and there is no other restaurant like it in Baton Rouge. The servers were very attentive and kind. I highly recommend this restaurant.

   This restaurant is excellent. The food is like you are eating in France. Perfectly well thought out dishes with lots of detail. The decor was very nice and welcoming. The service was above and beyond. The owner / chef came out several times asking how everything was tasting. I loved every minute of my time at The Plantry Cafe.

    The food is absolutely incredible. You can’t go wrong with any of the sandwiches. The trumpet mushrooms and carrot lox are so good. I love the flatbread too. They also have great soups! Everything here is amazing.
