About this restaurant

  • Good for special occasions
  • Charming
  • Great for scenic views
The Pink Door is an independently owned (never cloned, never genetically modified) restaurant that has been quietly dedicated to fresh & local Italian food since 1981. Its seafood & produce driven menu has been the central theme throughout its wildly popular domain in Seattle's Pike Place Market.

Why they're an Icon

Executive chef: Dylan Giordan

From the OpenTable editors: A Seattle favorite since 1981, this Pike Place Market restaurant is where owner Jackie Roberts wholly embraces her Italian American heritage. Think seasonal vegetables dipped in bagna cauda, fettuccine with braised wild boar, and negroni sbagliatos all served in an airy, rustic dining room decked out with white tablecloths and chandeliers. When the weather's nice, post up on the restaurant's charming patio for some epic Elliott Bay views.

I ordered the scallops and risotto. Best meal I’ve had in a long time.

If you’re in Seattle and looking for an Italian dining experience that checks all the boxes—The Pink Door is the move. But listen, make a reservation in the dining room with a view of Pike Place Market and the ocean. Watching the hustle and bustle of the market below while sipping a perfectly crafted cocktail? That’s the kind of main character energy we all deserve. Speaking of cocktails, I went for an Old Fashioned, but my girlfriend ordered something called the Naughty Haughty Fig Toddy—because how do you not order a drink with that name? It came garnished with a sugared rim and a whole fig on a fancy little pick, looking like it had just waltzed in from a Renaissance painting. One sip in, and she was fully in her cozy, refined, slightly smug winter drink era. I had a taste, and yeah—it was warm, boozy, and gave off strong “I own a library and wear turtlenecks unironically” vibes. Then came the food. We started with arancini—crispy, golden-fried risotto balls that were already incredible on their own, but the spicy tomato sauce they were served with? Life-changing. So good we had to order an extra side just to dunk our bread in. Next up was the Caesar salad, which was exactly how a Caesar should be—crisp romaine, perfectly balanced dressing, and house-made croutons that deserved their own round of applause. And then… the lasagna. I need a moment for this one. It was the best lasagna I’ve ever had. And guess what? It was vegetarian. I don’t know what kind of sorcery was involved, but it was perfection—layers of delicate pasta, creamy cheese, and a rich, flavorful sauce that made me question if I ever really knew what good lasagna was before this. We also got the rigatoni with meatballs because, at this point, why stop? The pasta was perfectly al dente, the sauce was rich and comforting, and the meatballs? They tasted like they were handcrafted by an Italian grandma who’s seen some things. So good we ordered a side of just meatballs because we had fully committe

It was our first time coming to Pink Door for a double birthday celebration and it was perfect! Love the ambiance, seated where you can overlook the water, jazz music on the background, food was great and the service was excellent!

We were seated in a lovely view window with a warm and hospitable welcome. Everyone from the hostess to the waiter greeting our special birthday guest with a “Happy Birthday” which made our delicious and beautifully presented dinners all the more wonderful. The Pink Door is always on top of freshness, quality of ingredients to make each dish memorable. The fresh oysters on the half shell were the best we have ever had! Thank you for another lovely and special evening!

Everything was delicious but I’d never describe a lasagna as delicate or light…until now! This was our last day in Seattle and what a perfect last meal! My daughter and I split the arancini which was the best we’ve ever had, we both agreed! The sauce was perfectly balanced with a hint of heat and the creamy center was herby and delicious! Next we shared the Pink Door Cesar salad. The croutons seriously made for the perfect bite! Lastly we each had our very own lasagna which came piping hot and bubbly. As I said, it was the only light and delicate lasagna I’ve ever experienced. The staff is lovely and the ambience is fun and eclectic! So glad we had the opportunity to enjoy this Seattle staple!

Fun Italian place with good vibes, though with a decidedly less pink door than I expected; I walked right past it at first. It’s nice enough for a date or birthday and is reasonably priced. I’m a local though so maybe I’m just used to Seattle prices. If you want a table on a Friday night, definitely make a reservation - I booked nearly 3 months out! I hear they take walk ins during non peak hours.
