Welcome to Geelong's oldest pub the Petrel Hotel!
We are a food focused pub and restaurant offering generous and genuine hospitality from the walls of a historic building.
Head chef Molly Fuge brings local and international flavours together with classic pub dishes like The Petrel Cheeseburger and Lemon Herb Crumbed Snapper + Chips. Glazed Beef Skewers with Mango Chimichurri are already a house staple, Oysters shucked to order with pomegranate granita and a perfect Lamb Rump sits atop heirloom tomatoes, black olive and green beans await you!
Join us in our light filled dining room dressed with paintings and treasures that nod to Australian pubs and county homes. Our grand wooden bar sits at solidly offering a home to wine with a focus on smaller Australian producers with a few international gems nestled between. Ice cold beer taps flow and simple considered cocktails line the bar.

    Amazing food very well seasoned and magnificent flavour. The service was very wonderful and felt like we didn't get rushed with the service. My partner and I shall definitely be going back to this restaurant again.

    Great little spot, roomy with an excellent bar, clearly beloved by locals, and the description of elevated pub food is correct. My schnitzel with chips and slaw was great. Shout out to the wait staff who are exceptionally fast and well-organized.

    Becoming one of the best pubs full stop, atmosphere created by the team means The Petrel is a fan favourite even with those that knew it long before. Keep it up

    It's the second time I have been to The Petrel, I was not disappointed. The food is delicious and well-priced. Such a cool pub in decor and vibe. The highlight again, was Bridie, whose service, smile and friendly demeanour are an added bonus to The Petrel experience.

    We went there to try the popular chicken schnitzel and it was delicious. The staff were super friendly and accomodating to us as we had a pram, the service was quick and consistent,
