Pretty nearly brand new , but the service was very good and food was exceptional, which was surprising given that it was a Sunday and we had traditional roast beef lunch. All the vegetables and extras and the puddings were delicious and again despite generous portions there was none of the usual feeling of bloated overeating so familiar on Sunday afternoon. Walking around Blenheim park now costs £41, so compared to that it’s actually good value.

Started with a drink in the bar - a very nice space with a roaring fire. The restaurant is a characterful wood-panelled room with a low ceiling, creating a cosy atmosphere. Tables are well spaced out, service is friendly and the food was very good. We were staying at the hotel, but it would also be a good place to dine if you lived fairly locally.

Outstanding meal- everything was utterly delicious. We had the crab and raviolo to start and the pork and salmon dishes for main- I would order all again and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them all! Service was also unobtrusive but attentive - a perfect balance. My only slight let down was the ‘elevator’ background music, which dimmed the atmosphere somewhat. I am to return however as the food was sublime and would like to try the other dishes.

Quality of food was first class and good degree of originality or twists to traditional dishes. Waitresses were friendly and smiley and courteous. Prices were slightly high - Sunday lunch could benefit from a set menu option. Highly recommended.

New Year’s Day visit to the Feathers, our first visit and it didn’t disappoint. The hotel has recently been refurbished, lovely bright reception with a roaring log fire - very welcome after a chilly walk around the town. Our lunch was delicious and service attentive. Full of flavour and well presented. There were only three other tables in, as we’d booked for 2pm so it was quite quiet but would imagine when full it would have a great vibe. A real treat, will definitely return.
