The food was excellent, as was the service. I just expect no less from the Met and that’s what I get! It is expensive, but it is definitely worth it. And they were so kind to accommodate us when we were exhausted and arrived early for our reservation. We were so happy to sit down and have a delicious lunch.

The food was very good, and the service was especially attentive. My main problem was that they list their crab cakes as an entree, but it's very much appetizer sized. You get two small crabcakes for $45 with basically no side. My date's salad with chicken was easily 2-3x the size. If you want to charge $45 for a crab cake appetizer, that's fine, but don't list it under entrees and give people the impression that it's going to be large enough for a meal.

Nice getaway from the crowds of the met and drink selection was great. However the food is quite hit or miss, soup was delicious as well as the duck but the salad as the starter was too bitter to eat. The lobster pasta was a bit too salty as well. Regardless, service was excellent and the ambience was quite nice just to enjoy a day out in the city.

The duck for $45 was inedible. Came out lukewarm, could not properly chew it, my guess was it was microwaved. I used to love going to the Met Dining Room! What a disappointment! Then the waiter asked if I wanted something different. I ordered a hamburger. Figured what could go wrong? It came out overdone, looked like a frozen patty to me. Probably would have gotten a better burger at Burger King.! So glad we didn’t bring guests. I would have been embarrassed. The server was excellent, the front desk excellent, but I don’t know who was cooking in the kitchen? Completely unacceptable! They gave us a free dessert. I would have rather have had a nicer lunch!

A destination restaurant for meetings or special occasions. Plan on extra time to get to the 4th floor when The Met is busy.

Lovely as always. Snow in the park, a hot toddy on the table, great food on the menu. Ideal place for Christmas Eve luncheon.
