  • Great for craft beers
A traditional pub serving contemporary English food in the heart of Fitzrovia. The Lore is composed of The Pub on the ground floor, The Kitchen on the first floor and Private room with bar on the top floor.

All of our food is freshly prepared by Head Chef Michal Kaszuba and his brigade in the Lore kitchen on the first floor. Our menus have been created especially to reflect the seasons, when ingredients are at their very best.
Our legendary Sunday roast is slow-cooked with delicious trimmings.

THE PUB
A copper and pewter topped bar serving a range of beers, including our very own Gritchie brews, premium spirits, cocktails and selected wines. The walls are adorned with eclectic and original artwork.

THE KITCHEN
Open plan but still intimate. Experience the sight and sound of our open kitchen with the Chefs cooking on our bespoke, charcoal fuelled oven and char-grill.

THE PRIVATE ROOM
A wonderful private room with private bar on its own floor.

Food and service were excellent - the waiters were very good with our toddler, who also enjoyed her food.

Overall this was a superb experience. We waited only an extra ten minutes for our table, we know the venue is busy, and did expect slightly delays, so didn’t mind this, however the way the team handled it was amazing, they acknowledged that we were delayed, and looked after us tremendously! The food was delicious, with a real focus on the meat! The potatoes were crispy and fluffy, however I felt like It was missing flavour. Carrots was delicious and Yorkshire pudding fluffy and crispy. Like I said however the meat was the showstopper, I got beef and pork and delicious. The desserts were great specifically the doughnuts! The winner however, was the service. Vita was our waiter, and everything she did spoke levels about her experience, she was personable, friendly and went above and beyond anything we suspected! Including a cute anniversary surprise dessert. Vita is what I would describe as a true hospitality professional. Leaving this for the end, because I don’t want to be the first thing people read. But I nearly didn’t rate full five stars for everything. However, the things I would mark down, is not the problem of the team. The ambience when we first arrived was bizarre, there was police outside and it seemed everyone around in the pub were so focused on what was going on outside and talking about it. I would say not the team they were focussed on the guests and the experience.

Mixed bag. Very lovely intimate dining room with the pass in the same room. The food was all delicious although I did find a hair in my starter. I didn’t complain so it’s probably not fair to write it in my review but I’d expect better from a place like that. The real let down though was waiting 40 mins to get our bill and pay. It took the head chef to notice how fed up we looked and flagged someone down. The menu was nice and a bit different and I would go back.
