What a cool experience! My girlfriend’s and I ate at The Last Refuge, and it was such a unique experience. The church is gorgeous and the pizza is amazing! A great spot for some different pictures. 10/10 recommend.

Unfortunately we specifically reserved a high top table for 6, in the amber room… and what we got was a low table for 8, not in the amber room. We specifically reserved a table in that room for the live music for a birthday event - we had friends in from out of town and wanted them to experience the ambience of that room. The hostess didn’t care to help us resolve the situation and it was basically “oh well, this is what we have.” Drinks took forever to receive - in 2 hours we had 2 drinks. Pizza was good. Overall, we hurried to leave and went to Guacamole to finish our night, which was a WAY better experience, service, and environment.

Very neat place but tables were way too small. Sat near the Church Bar and table given was small and made it hard to eat dinner. Not a lot of options on the menu either. Amber room was beautiful. Enjoyed the vibe.

Place is beautiful and that’s pretty much it. We made a reservation for our anniversary a few weeks prior. The hostess was not at all welcoming when we walked in. Then we were seated in a less than desirable part of the restaurant. Our reservation was noted that it was a special occasion. It took a while to get our drinks. We ordered an app and it was not edible. We were there for 40 minutes and left. We would have left sooner but the service was slow. Much better dining options in Louisville than this location.

If I could give no stars for service, I would first they lost our reservation no big deal. They got us a table whoever our waitress was was just absolutely terrible. We had no waters. She pretty much forgot about us. I came there early and brought a birthday cake for my best friend they put it in the fridge. I asked for it. She literally just popped it on the table in the case with a knife on top of it took off didn’t see her again for another 30 minutes Went upstairs to use the bathroom because apparently if there’s a party booked, you have to go outside but thankfully, the manager was nice enough to let us use the staff one then she finally notices us and chases us up the bathroom like we’re not going to pay very rude. We never eat there again.

We tried The Last Refuge for the 1st time for our wedding anniversary. It was great! My wife and I each had one of their cocktails to start and they were delicious. I had the the Lily of the West and my wife had the Knockin’ on Maples door, both versions of an old fashion. We then had pizza and a wedge salad. The Pizza choices are diverse, but I went with the Purgatory and my wife went with the Devine Pesto. Both were amazing! The atmosphere is unique and we can’t wait to take a group of friends back to this place.

Ambiance and decor were nice. Food was just OK. meatballs were a little tough, although a large portion for the sandwich- had to use a knife and fork to eat. Asked for only Marcona almonds and no olives but still received the olives with the almonds. Service was slow/forgetful
