   This is new iteration of this space. The setting is lovely, overlooking the Bay, huge fireplace. Very inviting. Not many diners for a 730 pm reservation Server was attentive, warm and welcoming. A few minor mistakes with an order. Food portions were large. Flavors need a bit of work, ie, tomato and fennel soup didn't seem to have any fennel in it. Get the grilled sourdough bread!!

   Disappointed....the $14 French fries were good but $14 really? Their mac-n-cheese is yum! But the main dish, the Monterey Black Cod was not that good. It came out looking like a soup but was never given a spoon for it. While the fish was cooked well, the broth tasted overly fishy and that absorbed into the bokchoy and everything else. This piece of fish was the smallest I've ever seen. Not sure I got any value from this dish. Their afogato was disappointing as well. It should be pretty simple, a scoop of vanilla with espresso. The Espresso tasted burnt, but that is not the first complaint of burnt coffee coming from the local Captain Stoker...overall the entire party agreed that we would not return to the Lantern Room, but will order cocktails and apps a few floors below as we feel that experience was way better

   We had a birthday celebration with 10 people. After a drink at the bar enjoying the magnificent Monterey Bay we went upstairs to the restaurant. We were seated immediately and I was called by my name. Service and food was excellent. Everyone raved about the meal. Flank steak was the biggest hit.

   Awesome Beach Hotel & view of Monterey Bay!! Easy access to beach!! The outside lounge was comfortable & nice view of the beach!! The Lantern for dinner was excellent! A very eclectic & unusual menu!! Food was delicious!! Nice offering of local wines & beer! View from the top floor was just lovely at sunset!!

   Disappointing is the best way to describe our breakfast here. The view was amazing. The prices were high ($60 for French toast for two, drip coffee and tip). The food was just okay and the service was lackluster. The French toast was very light, but very dry. There was no butter and I never saw the server after the plates were dropped off to ask for butter. Coffee was filled once and never refilled until the meal was over, and then we had to ask. After paying I asked about the parking situation at the front desk. It's free for diners, but $45 for overnight guests. At that time the front desk told me we should have gotten a 20% off discount since we are locals. No one mentioned that at the restaurant, and I didn't notice it printed anywhere on the menu. I don't mind paying a premium price for a premium dining experience, but this was NOT it. The view promises more than the food and service were capable of matching. It was just so-so food and so-so service at a five star price. I won't be back. I heard there is a $30 bacon cheeseburger on the menu at happy hour in the lobby. No thanks!

   Anna our server was amazingly kind and informative. The food was excellent. Fresh made pasta and cod was as good as you’ll find.

   Great staff, food and view. Anna was a great server and Dennis the manager was super helpful. Fantastic view. A great meal and night all around. Food was perfect, creative and locally sourced. Love this place.

   Loved loved loved the Lantern Room. Walking into the restaurant from the elevator was already a vibe and Dennis welcomed us with the warmest smile. We ordered the pea pasta and were able to get it vegetarian, it did not disappoint. We also had the grilled avocado with Bokchoi and coconut rice. I know it sounds a little weird, but the Asian inspired flavors complimented the dish perfectly. I would recommend to come for sunset so you can experience the view and go into the magic of the night at the restaurant.
