A very pleasant experience. The service and food were two of the outstanding features. It is a classy indoor setting but the experience would be improved if it were possible to move this to an upper room with views across Hyde Park. Another small thing for the hotel to consider. A classic china tea service, using real tea rather than teabags, would add class to this experience. However, I can't fault the flavour of the teas that were offered.

We chose this place as a second choice, since the known places we had in mind were already fully booked. We wouldn´t say it has been totally disapointing, but some aspects need improvement. Positive things: the food (a lot and very tasty); the location (close to Hyde Park Corner). Negative things/things to improve: you cannot serve an afternoon tea at a luxury hotel (at least they call themselves that) if you use Twinings tea bags. Twining is a lovely brand, we have it at home for a reason, but when you book a tea at such a place, you expect something more exclusive. It is not so difficult to have tea leaves from a quality shop (Harrods is near by, for instance) and make a proper afternoon tea. The room is not so suitable for afternoon tea. Actually it is the lounge of the hotel and there are guests there coming and going, sitting, chatting, laughing. I think, mixing those two functions in one doesn´t work very well. The music was quite loud and specially AWFUL. The service needs also a bit of improvement. The waiters are like a comet that disappears when you wanna see it, and appears when you have already forgotten that it exists. Fact: Not terrible, but I am sure you can get a better afternoon experience almost everywhere else. We had the impression that this service is not a priority for the management of the hotel and therefore they don´t make an effort. But they could turn the place in a reference for that with some improvements.

The afternoon tea had such huge potential, however was let down for a number of reasons. The tea itself was held on a coffee table in the foyer, as opposed to a restaurant setting or dedicated tea room; most disappointing for a five star hotel. The food itself was quite pleasant however, it was non-replensihable in any form, unlike most other five star afternoon teas we have tried. The savory 'plate' consisted of one finger sandwich, quarter of a wrap, a very small lobster muffin and 'postage stamp' savory tart, followed by two small scones and 4 mini cakes each; all for £39 per person. This was accompanied by tea made from tea bags rather than loose leaf. The lime and ginger tea, was literally sliced lime and ginger in hot water! The menu itself still contained the hole punches from the folder in which it is kept, and the 'tea menu' did not exist! On the plus side, the waitress was very pleasant and polite. This afternoon tea is not befitting of a five star hotel, and there are better options out there for you to explore.

Beautiful hotel It wasn’t clear where we went to let the hotel know we were there and again where we paid at the end. Wasn’t happy about having the service charge added Shame there were four people putting up Xmas decorations while we were in the lounge which wasn’t great as we were trying to eat? I had a leaf of some sort in my tea but the pot was changed. We asked what something was in the plate but the lady didn’t come back to us unfortunately

Although the food was good , the service , ruined the experience. Serviced half the tea and then 25 minute wait for the remainder. Half way through the payment the waiter left to take payment from another table and then claimed they were waiting a long time(when in fact arrived after us and we waited significantly through out the day, when asked for a box to take home the treats, we were informed they did not do that, The Dorchester, the Savoy and many other restaurants do, only when I asked for aluminium foil did this get sorted. I am extremely disappointed with the Park tower Hotel in Knightsbridge. I specifically choose this venue and chocolate tea for my guest from Canada. I cannot recommend this place nor will I return to be treated this badly.

The food was ok, but the setting is literally the hotel lounge where it's not usual for guests to eat except when booked for afternoon tea. Therefore, the service was very poor and not expected of a 5-star hotel. I wasn't offered anything to drink whilst waiting for the rest of my party, we had to find someone to ask for our champagne despite ordering it, we were charged additional for tea... during afternoon tea. Additionally, there was no way of taking any food we weren't able to finish home unless, as advised, we asked the Lebanese restaurant nearby for a box! Ok, if you JUST want afternoon tea, but service was atrocious, and it's in a room of about 4 sofas in the middle of the hotel foyer. Nothing special and would not return.
