I selected King‘s Kitchen for a business dinner for a group of eight. I wanted to treat my out of town guests to local southern cuisine. The service was professional and prompt. The food came out very quickly. Each dish was unique and delicious. My out-of-town guests were pleased with the selections from the menu and the bar. Our expectations were wildly exceeded by the quality of the food and the service.

Excellent food. Truly delicious. Started out with the pickled shrimp - very ceviche like and fabulous. The shrimp and grits had amazing flavor and the texture was perfect. The trout was outstanding. It came with a light sauce that complimented the fish very well. The crispiness of the skin was perfectly blended with the flakiness of the fish. Service was wonderful. Our server, Will, was friendly and attentive. My husband couldn’t stop complimenting the collards. And don’t forget the biscuits which looked like regular run of the meal biscuits until you took a bite and realized they were far from regular. We ended the meal with the banana pudding which did not disappoint at all. Wish we’d had room for the coconut cake but just couldn’t have another bite. Top all of this off with the fact that the restaurant is not for profit and its mission is to provide meals and opportunities for under served community in the area!! What a winning combination!!

Everything was very nice. Temperature of food could have been hotter. It got cold to soon. My husband thought the baked oysterwere the best of all. The fried corn was to small of a portion. I made reservation with a note that I was celebrating my husband for clergy month. There was no acknowledgement. That was disappointing knowing the history of the restaurant and the spiritual base involved. Carla our waitress was great.

Great food with great service and a cozy but upscale venue what more could you ask for? The Banaana Pudding that’s what you ask for.

From start to finish we had a positive experience. I read the reviews. their mission is the reason I made my booking . We were not disappointed. The food was amazing, the service excellent. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and if I lived here or nearby I would definitely be back. Sadly we are now on our way home to England, thank you to all your staff for making our last night in Charlotte a very enjoyable one.
