If it’s a special event avoid this pub. Called three times to arrange something but didn’t get response then when I did get call back what they said they’d do they either forgot or couldn’t be bothered to do. Very disappointing as would have been a nice moment but now lost. Food average and extremely overpriced. When staff are able to stand around you’d think they’d be able to follow through clearly no communication within. Won’t be going back!

It is an excellent country pub/restaurant. Friendly staff and dog friendly. I booked for the wrong number of people and the staff managed to fit in 2 extra people despite being busy. Amazing walks all around the pub.

Delicious food as always and my favourite pudding was on the menu, apple tarte tatin. Worth a visit for that alone. The Jack Russell has the complete package, lovely countryside, log fires, friendly staff and excellent food.

The menu was a strange mixture of choices. It felt like they were aiming for up market dishes, but it’s likely that it is to account for the high prices, they don’t have the expertise to follow it through. Breakfast was the same and the worst we have ever been served. Shame because the building is lovely. But that is where it ends

Have been so impressed with our stay at the Jack Russell. Warm welcome and friendly staff. Have come to celebrate my wife’s birthday and has been such a pleasant stay. The food was so good we opted in eating in the restaurant again during our stay. The rooms are immaculate.

Just back from a lovely Monday evening meeting friends that we have not seen for a While. We highly recommend the cocktails, their winter margarita was delicious and the food too. Service was fab. Thank you Jack Russell :)
