As always, an excellent experience. We have been many times before and the food, service and ambience is always incredible. We had the 1917 set lunch menu which is excellent value for quality and quantity.

20 mins before approach by waiter. Tables too low for eating
The Ivy Temple RowResponded 2 days ago
Good afternoon Ann, Thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. We are sorry to hear that you left disappointed with your visit, especially as it was a birthday celebration. We have looked in to your visit in detail and can see that you server did take you drinks order within five minutes of you arriving however your food order did take a additional 10 minutes which is slightly longer then we would hope and you server has been spoken too about this. We are put a note on your booking to ensure that a different table is offered on your next visit which may not be quite so low. We always want to ensure that all guests are comfortable when they dine with us. Once again thank you for taking the time to leave us this review. Many thanks, The Ivy Temple Row

Very poor experience on my 30th Anniversary. They sat us upstairs which was very empty even though multiple tables available downstairs and a better ambience. There were even more empty tables downstairs when we left and we the only ones eating upstairs. The starters were served even before we received our drinks which were ordered first. The mains were luke warm when served and the whole service was very haphazard. I should have asked the waiter to remove the service charge as the service delivered was poor. Very disappointed and will think long and hard before revisiting the Ivy in Birmingham.

Hello Harjc, Thank you for your feedback, and please accept our apologies for your disappointing experience on Wednesday. We are sorry to hear about your table upstairs lacked any atmosphere, we are always happy to accommodate seating preferences when possible. Your comments about the timing of drinks and the temperature of your meals are equally concerning and will be followed up with both your server and our Head Chef. This is not the standard we strive for, and we deeply regret falling short. Once again thank you for taking the time to leave us this feedback. Many thanks, The Ivy Temple Row

Overall a great experience - The Ivy in Birmingham as in London is always busy, the service team are brilliant and the food is very good. We were a table of four and can highly recommend the duck rendang - a particular favourite. Minor criticism in that more bar seating would be useful (we were early for our reservation) but on the whole worth a visit for celebrations or just because. You do need to book though as you are unlikely to get a table otherwise.
