   Staff had been very helpful in increasing the numbers in my booking. Warm welcome on arrival m, the requested sparkling wine was produced immediately. Great service and a lovely evening all round, the birthday choux bun was a thoughtful extra.

   Arrived to a clean bustling yet calm atmosphere. Plenty of floor staff being kept busy but never seeming to be getting in anyone's way. Wonderful decor and greeted by a young lady with a smile and a bounce in her step. Food was very good with price for mains reasonable but starters and dessert very pricy and equally, though tasty the portion size was a let down. Service was good and attentive when needed.

   I have been to various Ivy branches and usually enjoy the food and ambience there. Unfortunately, today's visit to Richmond brunch was disappointing. Lovely setting, nice service, but the food was not to scratch. My favourite duck salad was drenched in dressing and the duck was cold. My main course of blackened cod was fine though the side dish of "jasmine rice" (as I was told) was overcooked, had no jasmine flavour but some white shavings, which might have been coconut, though not sure. But most worrisome is that I had tummy cramps in the evening after this lunch, so something was not good.

   Starter (prawn/lobster cocktail) good, mains (blackened cod) very poor - lukewarm, overcooked fish and very poor vegetables. Bottle of wine taken away from table all night. Does not live up to expectations. Would not return.

   Our family party of four enjoyed a very good lunch today and we appreciated The Ivy's token acknowledgement of our daughter's birthday. An initial drawback was that the app for identifying allergens was somewhat cumbersome and showed disappointingly few options to be gluten free.

    Really lovely lunch! Great restaurant. Really friendly staff, especially Marie who looked after us really well and was amazing. A perfect lunch.
