We had a great time at the Ivy Belfast. The staff are so thoughtful and friendly. They really put their customers’s interest as their first priority. It’s my partner’s birthday and they went extra mile to give him a memorable and fantastic birthday celebration. The food was great and very attentive service. Definitely will visit it again soon .. thanks Ivy !

Lovely welcome and introduction, I was asked if I was in the restaurant for a special reason/event, I at that point revealed to my server (Hanna), that 18th January would have been my Mother's 88th birthday who was also called 'Ivy', she died on 1st September 2016 and we thought it the right place to commemorate her birthday,, beautiful surroundings and what a lovely evening but I'm confused as to why Hanna asked me was I on your premises for a particular reason, we thought something special was going to occur but it didn't which was a bit confusing. My girlfriend tried ringing during the week on countless occasions to make this known to you but nobody answered the phone to her(02895 680074). Overall a lovely experience but the personal touch was lacking and for a special occasion as such it's all about my Ivy, thank you for reading my review. Regards Frank PS Hanna was superb throughout.

The ambience and decor are beautiful, the service amazing. The portions were small . The drinks were lovely. I don’t like being charged a service charge. Don’t think the food is anything special, won’t rush back.

First, it took us months to get availability for a Friday. We've been to the Ivy in Dublin and London, and it's always been pleasant. Belfast experience, however, left us very disappointed. When we arrived, the table wasn't ready, and we were directed to the bar. Approaching the bar, we asked a waitress if she could find us a seat, and she just said, "You might just walk around yourself." So we did. There was only one seat available, and my fiancé had to stand. 30 mins later, our table still wasn't ready, we asked the staff to check, and they got it ready for us then. The menu was quite barish. Since we were already frustrated with the start of our experience, we just ordered fish and chips, a burger, and 2 glasses of wine. The wine took a while to come, along with water for the table. The food was not any more special than any typical pub food, and the meat in the burger was burned. Since we were starving, we didn't send it back. The waiter was a lovely lady, but not very attentive - we had to keep asking her to remove plates and glasses, and even then, she would still leave something on the table. In the end, we ordered a dessert to share, waited, and waited for it. It never came. We got up and went to pay at the till, the first bill we got wasn't for our table, up on the 2nd bill we mentioned about the burned meat in the burger and no dessert, and the waitress said she forgot about the dessert. Nothing was offered to smoothen the experience, apart from the suggestion to come on a less busy night. I would have taken the service charge out, only we felt sorry for the waitress - she was genuinely trying to do her best, only she was either too overwhelmed with all the tables or not experienced enough. We won't be rushing back.

This is my second visit and the food was amazing on both visits. The only thing I would say is it was very dark in the restaurant on the second visit you could hardly read the menu.
