We had an awful experience at the Ivy Asia in Chelsea.
Firstly the service was very slow, then the table next to us were told that there was an issue in the kitchen and they would not be receiving their food. They were very unhappy and because the tables were so close spent the entire meal telling us how unhappy they were.
Throughout the meal different members of staff came to talk to them including the manager and it was not very relaxing at all and ruined what was meant to be a quiet and special meal for two and turned it into an uncomfortable experience.
As soon as we were finished, we paid the bill and left. We were then walking down Kings Road and a member of staff wearing full Ivy Asia costume/uniform came running down the street, tapped me on the shoulder and shouted out in front of everyone that we had not paid our bill. I was so shocked and embarrassed to be confronted this way in the street. I had paid the bill just a few minutes before. I was very upset.
I went back to restaurant and spoke to the manager about the way we had been treated and he just did not seem to care. He said sorry but did not seem to think it was a big deal and just wanted to get on with his days.
Just an all round bad experience.

In advance asked for a nice table for my son's birthday. Upon entering was given a small table right by the door... no point in them asking for any special requests if not taken into account.
She moved us to another table but still way too small for 6 people and all the drinks and plates etc but food very good and most importantly Christian was amazing - he made the evening for us and had we had a more sensibly sized table and better welcome would have been 5 stars

The drinks were great here. Although the nigiri/sushi left a lot to be desired. The ambience was amazing and I would go there just for that.

The food was excellent- but had a long wait for the simple popadom nibbles at the beginning of our meal.

We have all been to restaurants that were great and then it all went wrong . Well, I am happy to say that Ivy Asia is consistently great . I live close by , subsequently I have dined at the Ivy's on the Kings Road since they opened . Keep up the good work !

The venue is well decorated but quite small and tight spaced. A nice buzzy vibe though.
The service is very good and plenty of staff to attend to your needs
Food is mixed. Some dishes were very good- like the crispy duck; but some were quite average - like the chicken green curry, and portions were quite small.
Overall value is fair, and you really pay for the name, location and Instagram worthy photos.
Go for the social aspect, not to sample tasty dishes,
