Founded in 2011, The Hudson Café was born in the heart of Detroit just before the city’s much-publicized revival began. Located on Woodward Avenue between Grand River and State St, our name is a nod to the iconic Hudson’s department store and Detroit’s heyday as a bustling, cosmopolitan city. We have been blessed ever since to watch the city progress and grow around us.

Our mission is simple: to celebrate the diverse, hustling, resilient city of Detroit and its people by consistently providing amazing food and a stellar experience. Our expansive menu has something for everyone--whether it’s our take on the famous Maurice salad that your grandparents remember from Hudson’s, a heaping stack of pancakes for the dessert-for-breakfast person in your life, or Mickey Mouse pancakes for the little ones--we’ve got you covered.

Great breakfast and fast service. Wasn’t too busy when we got there but filled up quickly. It’s not a large space. The server was very good and pleasant and she had more than a few tables. We will go back.

My Thanksgiving omelet was very good, as well as the pancakes. My friend’s eggs Benedict was not very good. Our potatoes were both a little overdone. Very expensive meal for not such great food. We did have an excellent server.

The food is always great! The servers are very accommodating, friendly, and dedicated to providing a great dining experience. The only downside is the one bill and form of payment. When dining out you do it for the convenience, but now restaurants want to do one bill and payments for groups. So after having a good time you have to calculate and itemize orders. I don't understand why its difficult to be done with separate bills or at least itemize the orders on the one bill.
