The Hop Vine formerly the ‘Royal Hotel’ was built in 1874 and was the main stopping off point for goods being transported to and from the old Turnpike road the A59. The Royal as it was known has served the community and travellers alike. To the rear of the building in our historic Cobbled Garden you will find our own brewery housed in the stables which were used for the horses and stage coaches as they passed through the village. From Ales to YPA’s, to Blonde beers we are a small producer using primary English hops brewing exclusively in house for The Hop Vine and our sister pub the Legh Arms.

Our countryside sister the Legh Arms is our latest addition to the family and is situated in the pretty hamlet of Mere Brow. Here we serve our trademark delicious home produced quality food and excellent home brewed ales. Your hosts Mike & Julie and their superb team bring a wealth of experience in the trade and have sourced the best in the local area to tempt you.

The Hop Vine, Burscough is our favourite place to eat and have a few drinks. Discovered it last year and love the food and fabulous drinks as well as amazing service. If we lived close by we would want to go to the Hop Vine all the time! We have been there as a couple and with friends. You have to book as it is so popular. The Sunday Roast menu is delicious and caters for all. The food is always hot at the table and cooked to perfection. The Christmas menu last year was so good we have already booked for this year too. Well done Hop Vine, gives us something to look forward to.

We were celebrating my wife’s 74th Birthday. We have been many times before and the staff no my wife suffers from dementia. We could not have got a better service and really lovely meals. Thanks especially to Nicky for being so understanding. X

We decided we needed a well earned break from packing as we are moving soon and chose to come here as we had been once before for a quick beer and a sandwich and was impressed. My husband had the Chefs special rump steak, which was beautifully trimmed and served with Chubby Chips, salad, mushrooms, onion rings etc..I could tell from the first piece that he was enjoying it, he said it was succulent and better than a rib eye that he had a few weeks previous! I normally eat fish as it’s easier for me to manage with my new teeth 😉 and had had some terrible experiences with badly cooked meat. After consultation with our waitress I decided to go for the Steak & Ale Pie, Chips , Mushy Peas & Gravy after she assured me that the Steak & Ale Pie filling was slow cooked overnight. She wasn't wrong, it was beautiful and the pie itself was rammed with meat and the “chubby chips” were the best I have ever had. We washed it down with a bottle of Braii Cabinet Sauvignon..which was delicious. We had absolutely no room for dessert and it came to under £55. We don’t eat out often nowadays but rest assured when we do, this is the place we will come back to. Totally the 2 bus 2 way journey!

Excellent service from entering the pub. Staff very friendly and helpful. The pub was busy but this did not impact on the efficient service. The food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Would highly recommend.
