We have eaten here many times. Not sure if there has been a change in the kitchen but our food was very poor. The roast vegetarian Wellington was raw, the pastry was white and doughy. The roast pork was dry and the accompanying cracknel was one piece the size of a peanut! The Highfield has always served their roasts with lovely seasonal vegetables, this time we had maybe half a carrot each if we were lucky and two tiny potatoes. A spoon size portion of cabbage did not lift the general meanness of the portions. We did point this out to staff and they did bring some additional vegetables. The uncooked wellington was left on the plate. It’s such a shame because our family love the Highfiled, but we will certainly be considering other options in future.

The Pork Belly was dry, hard and tastless. The slaw that came with it was weird. The fish of the day, trout came with loads of boiled potatoes which wasn’t anything special and too much.

We took some friends that have not been before because they really fancied a roast dinner. They were very impressed, 2x roast beef and 2x roast pork all delicious. Service was absolutely superb, I didn’t get the waitress name but she was very attentive and good fun. Thank you

Went for my birthday. Superb meal and great staff. I struggled with acoustics because of hard surfaces but this is a minor point. Fully recommend it!
