   Sadly the food was underwhelming. Bacon burger had to be left as not got. Chips ok

   My daughter and I went to the Griffin Inn for Boxing Day Lunch. We had been to several 'Festive Lunch' events in December so both opted for the Steak & Chips option. The steak was brilliant and cooked to perfection, as were the rest of the meal. The atmosphere was inviting and quieter than we expected, though it was livelier in the Bar where the football was on TV. The staff were attentive and we had a lovely time. We will definitely return.

   Well over priced for what we received….sprouts and parsnips were raw….cauliflower cheese and creamed leak sides were missing…..very disappointing….this was our Christmas Day dinner.

   Enjoyed a chicken sunday dinner. It was delicious and hot. I only gave 4 stars as the gravy boat was small and had to ask for more scrumptuos gravy. Other than that fabulous

   Booked a table through OpenTable and arrived to be told that they’re not serving food. When I suggested that they stop OpenTable from taking bookings I was told they couldn’t access the website. It must have been too much trouble for the pub to contact OpenTable directly and ask for assistance. Oh well, Pen y Bont it will be from now on!

   Arrived at restaurant via taxi and went in only to be told kitchen was closed and no meals were available. Staff couldn’t understand why reservation had been allowed. Not much help to us of course as we had to leave and get another taxi to take us to another restaurant who were kindly able to fit us in without a booking despite being very busy (thank you Pen-y-Bont). So no idea where fault lay- restaurant or background team of brewery

   It took.nearly 3 hours for 2 courses the service was terribly slow. The poor waitress kept apologising. There were only 3 other tables in ! Food was average - roast Dinners with a very small amount of gravy - had to ask for more. No condiments available to accompany- cranberry for turkey , horseradish for beef etc had to ask and non available(which you expect when paying 15.00 for a roast) Desserts came out wrong. Had to ask for them to be corrected - this made for another long wait. Had to go.to bar to order more drinks/desserts as no one came over.We ended up being late for an event we were attending. Won't be back which is a shame as it's local. There seemed to be enough serving staff so don't know what went wrong.

   Went for Sunday dinner which we thoroughly enjoyed. The service was excellent. We will definitely be back.

    Well I can’t give a proper rating as we got there and was told there was no chef there, and that I should have got a call or email. Therefore we had to go somewhere else to celebrate my birthday Not impressed
