The Great Room Restaurant is undoubtedly one of Northern Ireland’s most extraordinary restaurants. Thanks to the remarkable original Victorian interior with its glass cupola, Ireland’s largest chandelier an array of plasterwork detailing, the space is second to none. Needless to say our chefs search tirelessly to bring the finest seasonal ingredients together in eloquent dishes in thoughtfully prepared menus, just one of the reasons The Great Room Restaurant was awarded 2 AA Rosettes. All this is complemented by expert service and a wine list to which all the superlatives apply!
Mid- week lunch is served Monday to Friday from 12.00 to 14.15

    A wonderful evening having a relaxed meal amidst the business of the run up to Christmas. Fantastic food and service. There was a 10% service charge for our table of 2. I prefer to decide on my own tip. I was surprised it was added for a small table. Otherwise we had a great night.

    The Merchant is invariably wonderful. It’s always a special treat to go, they never let their high standard drop. We love to come here. Hurrah for the Merchant, it is a treasure .

    A lovely experience for a special occasion but felt it was very overpriced for what we received. The food was nice but nothing outstanding and drinks were really expensive. Staff were excellent, could not fault any of them or the service we received. I would visit again but only as a treat.

    It was very busy on the 13th with a couple of Christmas parties so a bit noisy but we enjoyed it none the less. The Great Room itself is spectacular, a very special setting for breakfast or dinner. Our food from the set Christmas menu was delicious, the salmon and the scallops for starters, my sea bass main was also delicious with the crunchy hazelnuts and my husbands fillet steak was cooked to perfection. The staff really make it though, and the attention to detail is phenomenal. Kirill deserves a special mention, he was alert and ready to attend to anything on the tables around him. Our table lamp flickered and it was immediately removed and fixed, he was very warm and welcoming too. We will definitely return.
