This review is of the New Years Eve 5 course dinner, late seating at 9:15 PM. The food and service were very good. The restaurant is very pretty but noisy. Here's the main issue....,The value for the money, even by the standards of New Year's Eve inflated pricing, wasn't. Dinner for two with one drink each, desert, gratuity and parking was $765. Dancing was promised in the reservation listing on OpenTable but there wasn't a specific place set aside for this for those that booked the reservation. One had to dance in the bar area of the Fairmont hotel. Since the bar was crowded on New Year's Eve, this pretty much meant that very few people had space to do so. The DJ played music that was terrible for dancing in my opinion, but that's a matter or personal taste. While dancing and DJ are not generally something one includes in a restaurant review, I have to do so here. If you tell guests that dancing is part of the New Year's Eve package there should be a dance floor available. This is really about setting expectations. We had a nice time, but I wouldn't book this again.

It was more a discotheque than a restaurant. It was NYE and was expecting things to a little busier and louder than usual. We weren’t expecting that at The George. The food was fine and the servers seemed a little overwhelmed especially since they were doing family style service. We had higher hopes. Just a miss.

First time went to The George for the New Year's Eve dinner with wife. The dinning room setting and the waiter were all very nice, as it should be given the the well known hotel chain brand. But to our surprise, the food was not good given the price of $195 per person. We only had the new year's eve dinner menu, and the food was not very tasting. The prime rib was cooked too dry and hard, and there was no soupe included that price. My wife also commented that she noticed that there was no table linen used for such expensive setting and holiday occation. With a beer, tax, and $100 tip for the waiter, it cost us more than $600. Probably the least value for the given price for a high-end dinner in the entire Seattle areas we have been over the past 3 decades. While expressing our appreciation to the waiter who's very nice to us, and to the decoration of the restaurant, this is likly the last time we dine there.

We dined here for the 2024 New Year's Eve $195/pp set menu, and unfortunately, it was the most disappointing "fine dining" experience we've ever had. For $872 (for 3 people), the entire evening felt more like eating at a food hall than a premium restaurant. Here's what we received: 1. One milk bread —shared by the entire table. 2. One salad—shared by the table. 3. One beef tartare dish—also shared. 4. Six oysters for the table —an additional $24 charge. 5. Beef tenderloin with lobster—served "family style" on a shared plate. 6. Three drinks—an extra $60. 7. One dessert per person. The server was excellent and did his best, but the food itself was underwhelming in taste and horrible in presentation. At nearly $900 (including 20% automatic tips), the value for money and the expected experience were non-existent. This meal was worth, at most, $150 (plus drinks of course) for the quality and presentation provided. For a restaurant claiming to offer fine dining, this was a massive letdown. A word of caution for anyone considering a special occasion here: find another place.

Food was delivered helter skelter! One diners entre was first, then came their appetizer. Nothing for the second diner until the waitress finally came back to check on table. She then brought out the second diner’s appetizer which was quickly followed by second diner’s entre by server. Waitress was very apologetic and served a complimentary glass of wine. It seems as though the food order was submitted to the kitchen which prepared everything ordered but then the communication broke down and servers just delivered food as it was completed without any sense of the correct delivery order.
