   The George has finally lost its heart . Always loved it here but its changed drastically. Still a beautiful venue but lacks on the “ Big warm welcome you used to get when you walked through the door “ Miss the old staff they made this place . The manger was lovely , A really nice man who couldn’t do enough. Food was good and tasty but not as good as it used to be . Potatoes not crispy or brown , parsnips and carrots disappointing. Never been anywhere in Thanet where you pay a pound extra for a Yorkshire pudding. . Still a very busy place . Service lets it down now I’m my humble opinion.

   The food is always excellent in The George & Heart. We enjoy taking our dogs there and they are made welcome too. The wines are very reasonably priced. The only slight disappointment this time is that we had to order our dessert twice and then it was forgotten. Once it arrived it was excellent as expected. Other than that 5 stars all the way.

   Loved this place previously but it’s been made more pub and less restaurant, how they can charge £10 to reserve a cover is beyond me! We arrived Friday night to be squashed into a corner when there were many tables empty that we assumed would have been booked later, however, they remained empty apart from people just drinking. Food used to be nice but now much less enjoyable, we only ate half of it as it was poor quality. Won’t go back much better places to eat.

    Our visit here was a highlight of our Margate trip. Best meal we’ve had in a long time. Service was friendly and helpful, but not overbearing. Can’t wait to return.
