The Flying Pig is a traditional family-friendly Lakeland pub, offering fantastic seasonal food, made using only the finest freshest locally sourced ingredients.
We also serve a fantastic selection of local real ales, fine wines from around the world, and a selection of premium lagers and ciders.

We’re lucky enough to be positioned close to several popular walking routes, making us the perfect place to fuel up before a hike or to rest up after a hard day's trekking in the Lake District fells.

We feared the worst on arrival because the pub was very busy in the evening following a sunny day and we were a party of 5. We needn't have done so, our young server was excellent looking after us and a large number of other customers and our food was very good. Difficult service is hard to find these days, so I would definitely recommend The Flying Pig.

My wife and I dined here on our first night of a short break in Bowness. The service was quick, efficient and very friendly, we were seated within seconds. The food was prompt, very nicely cooked and good value for money. We will be back on our next trip to the Lakes.

The food was pretty good but it was very busy, the staff did their absolute best but I think it needed more staff to cope with demand. The food came out very fast though. They allow dogs which was fab but it’s fairly basic inside and not cosy or that comfortable. The toilets were lacking. The menu was fairly limited.

Not for me Although the staff were nice, the food lets TFP down. Poor quality roast dinners, with 2 of the thinnest pieces of meat I’ve ever seen on each plate. Very expensive for what we got.
