   Our waiter made terrific recommendations and our dinner was excellent. I picked the spot to take my boss from NYC and a colleague. We had the tuna appetizer and bang bang shrimp to share then had meatloaf, short ribs and I had the salmon with mushroom risotto. All of us enjoyed it and were impressed. And the salmon was the best salmon dish I have ever had. Seasoned perfectly and cooked just right for me (medium). I can’t wait to go back and have a lunch reservation for next week! Another visitor to impress from the office -this time London.

   We went for NYE. The 3 course meal was good. The DJ started off slow but picked up the pace as the night progressed. This is a good way to spend a NYE. They should promote this better because most of the crowd left. The venue is large enough for a great NYE party which we enjoyed.

   I ordered the crab cake eggs Benedict and it was underwhelming. The hollandaise was lacking flavor, the crab cake had more cornbread than crab. Wife ordered chicken fried steak with mash. She said Cracker Barrel’s was far superior. The steak was chewy and the batter was bland. We spent $150 for a party of 4! Not coming back.

   Juan took great care of us. Our table ordered the diver scallops, chicken fried chicken, and chicken fried steak. All were well prepared and flavorful. We had not been to this Federal Grill location before, but will return. Very close to walk to Discovery Green for an after dinner stroll.

   Had a very large reservation of 16 people in town for a cheer competition. The reservation process was easy. Food was served on time and the service was great.

    Based on other reviews, my husband got the meatloaf and I got the truffled chicken. The meatloaf was possibly the worst I’ve ever eaten. My husband said that it wasn’t like his mother’s. (Haha) Whoever made it overworked the meat and caused the texture to be mushy. Really bad! My chicken had plenty of good truffle flavor, but it was overcooked and dry. Overall, I wouldn’t hurry to go back.
