   Enjoyed our first visit. Super handy for the theatre. Food excellent & reasonable price. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful, It was very busy & buzzy atmosphere but the down side was it was a struggle to hear each other & the bar staff were really busy, mix up with our drinks order & we waited ages for 1 of the drinks. I was grateful we had table service, the bar looked packed . Overall enjoyed it & would go again 😊

   Really good service in the Engine Room. Served with a smile from lovely waitress. Food hot and served well. Plenty of room to sit in comfort

   Friendly staff and interestingly curated interior, but food is very overpriced. £16 for a very average vegan burger and chips (incidentally an extra £1 for chunky chips) and a few leaves and seeds. Chicken escalope for £18 was ok but not really worth the price. Overall, nice staff and an interior but very poor value for food.

   2nd time in 3 weeks , gig and food, excellent Food , excellent service , excellent venue . Another fab gig , Venue is the jewel Of Sunderland.

   The experience could have been spoilt as an error was made with one of the meals we’d ordered however it was rectified immediately as it had been realised before it left the kitchen. The waitress explained what had happened, there was not too much of a wait before the correct meal was served. Quite soon after the waitress returned to the table checked all was ok and said the cost of that particular meal would be taken from the bill. Service was excellent. All staff a credit to the business. Thank u for starting our evening off to a lovely start!

   Very good fish and chips. Belly pork cooked to perfection, best ever tasted. Reasonably priced. Excellent staff. Would recommend. Can't wait for my next visit in April

   Our table was being used by someone when we arrived, but they were moved and it was ready straight away. Service was great, our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Food was nice, too many chips, we would've shared if we knew the portion size, but can't complain for the price. It was very busy, but that was to be expected on a Saturday night. However, we weren't rushed to make way for others. It was slightly disappointing to hear it was restaurant week, but the deals weren't available between 5-7 pm, so we couldn't have the menu we'd seen advertised. Overall, we had a good experience and would return again.

    Great location especially if you’re heading to the Sunderland Empire. Service was highly professional and friendly. Energetic vibe in fun surroundings.
