The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. Some of the menu highlights include the Bacon Wrapped Filet, Delmonico New York, Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi. We offer a wide selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Relax and enjoy a delicious meal in one of our iconic red leather booths, take in a beautiful evening on our terrace, or watch a sporting event in our bar and lounge.     Two friends meeting for a holiday lunch. We couldn’t have picked a better place. The food and drinks were delicious and the ambience was wonderful. It’s just a wonderful place to kick back and visit with friends.

    The calamari appetizer was delicious, very soft but crispy . The Classic Cheeseburger and steak fries were the best! We enjoyed the Affirmed and Iceman martinis. Service was great!

    We arrived at the restaurant on a very busy evening. We got there early but only had to wait a few minutes and were seated before our reservation time. The waiter we had was very attentive. The food was delicious. We shared a wedge salad that they split for us that was still a good sized portion. The main courses were so good and big portions, we all took doggie bags. It was my husbands Birthday and the waiter brought us a complimentary Baked Alaska which she lit at the table, nice presentation. I would recommend for a special occasion, they know how to do it right.

    Very crowded for Christmas Eve, BUT they managed it well and we were seated very close to our reservation time. Service was great, food was great and it was very festive.

    Considering how busy they were on Christmas Eve absolutely great performance. Service and food were as good as usual. We were on a back patio that I didn't know existed because the reservation was made relatively late. It was fine but the atmosphere wasn't as nice as inside.

    My dinner was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh and very tasty. My server was helpful with all my food question’s. The staff in general was friendly and kind. The atmosphere was old school classic and elegant. I highly recommend this gem to friends and family who want a special dinning experience!

    My family and I came here to celebrate an early Christmas Eve lunch. The Christmas decorations were absolutely beautiful and really filled the restaurant with the perfect ambiance. We ordered French onion soup, sea bass, prime rib and the rack of lamb. All the food was delicious and left my family with full stomachs. Our host, Johnny, was very attentive and popped in just the right amount to check on us without being intrusive. My family agreed we wouldn't hesitate to come back to celebrate another special occasion.
