The Derby is more than a restaurant. Established in 1922, it has been family owned and operated since 1951. It is a grand museum showcasing some of horse racing’s greatest moments. Diners are invited to take a break from the rush of modern life and travel back to the time of George Woolf, Seabiscuit, and relive the excitement of “The Race of the Century”. We excel in offering the best meat and fresh seafood hand selected by our longtime executive chef that would delight even the most discriminating of taste. Some of the menu highlights include the Bacon Wrapped Filet, Delmonico New York, Prime Rib and Shrimp Scampi. We offer a wide selection of wines by the bottle and by the glass. Relax and enjoy a delicious meal in one of our iconic red leather booths, take in a beautiful evening on our terrace, or watch a sporting event in our bar and lounge.     Very crowded for Christmas Eve, BUT they managed it well and we were seated very close to our reservation time. Service was great, food was great and it was very festive.

    Considering how busy they were on Christmas Eve absolutely great performance. Service and food were as good as usual. We were on a back patio that I didn't know existed because the reservation was made relatively late. It was fine but the atmosphere wasn't as nice as inside.

    My dinner was absolutely delicious. The food was fresh and very tasty. My server was helpful with all my food question’s. The staff in general was friendly and kind. The atmosphere was old school classic and elegant. I highly recommend this gem to friends and family who want a special dinning experience!

    My family and I came here to celebrate an early Christmas Eve lunch. The Christmas decorations were absolutely beautiful and really filled the restaurant with the perfect ambiance. We ordered French onion soup, sea bass, prime rib and the rack of lamb. All the food was delicious and left my family with full stomachs. Our host, Johnny, was very attentive and popped in just the right amount to check on us without being intrusive. My family agreed we wouldn't hesitate to come back to celebrate another special occasion.

    There was a bit of a wait even though we had reservations. The waitress seemed to be very busy. I had to ask for fresh ground pepper, it wasn’t offered.

    Great time. Wonderful service. Wonderful food. From the moment we were greeted at the door until the time we left, (and we were not rushed out of there) every employee we encountered was friendly and cheerful. It was nice to go somewhere that the employees were happy. Desiree helped us through the menu and made helpful suggestions. Our first time there - definitely not our last.

    Felt discriminated against our server ignored us until another server took over thank you to him for trying to turn our experience around. But overall felt unwelcome sucks because seen another table they were of Asian ethnicity and they two were being ignored. It’s just sad the world we live in. By the way, me and my wife are Latinos
