   The service was excellent. The starters were fabulous. Some of our party didn’t enjoy the accompaniments to main course. It was my son’s 30th birthday and he received a card and complimentary dessert which was well received. The dress code was explained on the website which we followed but other diners did not which was disappointing ( too casual for the ambience and price mark ie. Hoodies, tracksuit bottoms).

   Considering the good reviews, I wasn’t blown away by the food or the service. Food was ok, not worth the money though, it’s Hawksmoor prices and nowhere near the same quality, the bone marrow gravy tasted like normal packet gravy. The dauphinoise portions were bitty and overcooked, definitely not freshly cooked, it’s like they’d been heated in the microwave, the cheese over the op was definitely melted in the microwave. It was all very overpriced. The front of house staff were very lovely but table service all looked quite moody and didn’t did the service to be very good at all. Didn’t experience anything that would make me want to go back.

   Family trip to York and party of 8 night out. Ambience very nice….. modern with a great vibe. Menu looks limited but is in fact more than adequate to accommodate all tastes and the food cooked to perfection. Drinks menu good and nice festive cocktails. Service was excellent despite the restaurant being full. Overall a very nice night out. We will definitely come back.

   Fantastic food a bit pricy but I had the most amazing steak I have ever had. Service was fantastic and I would definitely recommend

   Unfortunately my steak was really chewy, so shared my partners with him which was much better. Assume it was a bad piece as never had a bad steak before. Pigs in blankets were quite highly priced for just the 3!

    We went for my birthday and it was superb the food was amazing and the service was fantastic. Especially the birthday candle in the 24k chocolate cake. Very nice touch.
