   I didn't realize that there would be a set menu for New Year's Eve. I was looking forward to the lobster thermador. Meal was delicious but the meringue in the dessert was spongy. It was a humid day so perhaps that was the trouble.

   Second time at commodore was a miss. I ordered the Dover Sole and it was overcooked. They did much better on my family’s steaks/ chops, however all the mushrooms were rubbery and tasteless. There was a very long wait for dessert which would not have been a huge deal if anyone would have stopped by the table to ask if we wanted an additional beverage etc. They did comp part of the meal but money was not really the issue and the amount comped was not even close to how short the service and food fell. I understand it was New Year’s Eve and they were very busy but when you spend over $600 for a meal you expect it to be to a certain level. We will try it again not on a holiday because we have had a previous positive experience, but I can not recommend if you want your evening to be flawless.

   First time to The Commodore and it was fantastic! The food, drinks and service were all amazing and the renovations are beautiful!

   Beautifully updated and tastefully decorated space. Greeted kindly by professional staff and escorted to table with lake view. Wonderful recommendation for service for two, and started with a couple of fabulous cocktails. Ended the evening with a delicious dessert and an overall lovely experience!

   Beautiful restaurant and overall great though it had a few hiccups. Hopefully parking isn’t always difficult, but we circled the lot trying to find a spot. Our server ignored us for about 15 minutes and a drink order took 30 minutes. We were told they had just received truffles from France, and they were being offered at $20 for each item on which we wanted them. We ordered $60 worth. They were absolutely flavorless. Very disappointing. We told our server who discussed it with the chef. The chef said they wouldn’t develop flavor for about a month. Why, then, were they offering them? They should have been deducted from our bill. Other than that and the service missteps (we weren’t asked how we wanted our meat cooked -we had to tell him, silverware missing), the food was excellent -steak and prime rib perfectly cooked and and we both loved the spinach and butterscotch pudding. I ordered a Grasshopper -hadn’t had one in many years - skip it- unimaginative and definitely not worth the calories. In fairness, our visit was during the Christmas holidays, but for a restaurant of this caliber, it should have been nearly perfect.

   The overpriced drinks were terrible, ordered a vesper and got a lemon drop, manhattan’s were not good at all. Mary Ann our head waiter forgot one of our dessert drinks, then got an attitude when she had to take it off the bill. No apology.

    OUTSTANDING! We had a wonderful experience dining at the Commodore. Exquisite service - staff addressed us by name, which made us feel very special. Excellent food and great cocktails. (We did have to wait a little while for our drinks, but the bar was busy. We did not mind at all.) Great ambience here and impeccable service. Thanks to all for making our evening unforgettable.
